Could someone take pity and please explain what exactly the new situation is? Has Ford decided the HVBJB problem does not need the software update? My Mach E has finally arrived but is still on hold at the dealer waiting for some sort of news from "Big Ford" before I can more forward.

We have no idea why the recall was pulled. But if the dealer is unable to perform the update, which is the case right now then they cannot release the vehicle. So, you're in a conundrum...

My dealer performed the update Thursday, but I have not purchased it yet. I should have picked it up Saturday.

Continue with your plans... Until Ford communicates something official all of this is speculation. Ford can’t just “pull a recall” that’s satisfying a NHTSA safety complaint without issuing another stop sale order.

I’ve done multiple 1,000+ mile road trips in my premium extended. No issues, similar to the many thousands of people driving their Mach-E’s blissfully unaware this forum exists :)

If you have no clue what you are saying, maybe you shouldn't say it.

The recall update IS NOT AVAILABLE as of right now. We have the same tools that the dealer will use to update vehicles and it's not an option. Period, end of story. That's not speculation, that's fact! The original stop sale order is still in effect. There's nothing that has changed. The order says that the dealer must update the vehicle to comply with the recall to release it. If they cannot update, they cannot release. No additional order is needed.

Encouraging someone to take time off of work, lose pay or otherwise to get vaporware is not a nice thing to do. It's the exact opposite reason that I created this thread, to help people make informed decisions. That being said, it could be back by Friday, but it may not be. I would tell him to monitor the thread and we'll keep everyone updated. If it were I, I would cancel the appointment or re-schedule it 1 week out and if there's nothing next week, move it again.

Yes, but it's speculation regarding what will happen, it isn't for what has happened. Only the "why it happened" is speculation.

But I speculate something will show up in FDRS in the next few days.

It's all very hush-hush at the minute, as you can imagine, but I can tell you that we have our top people working on it.

Can someone check my VIN? I took my Mach-E in for the recall update last week and was told by the dealer that it was installed successfully.
