Yes, I know the FDRS route.
You’re a unicorn though. You’re the first instance I’ve heard of where the remote frunk release has been enabled on a job 1 by ford. Has it been enabled in FordPass as well?
There are no TSBs, SSMs, or CSPs that will allow a dealer to perform this update free of charge to the job 1 car owner.

Agreed. But if there was evidence of an “official” ford release of remote Frunk release to Job 1 vehicles, I’d be at my service department, whining ?

No, it only works with the door key code trick. It's not on the screen or in FordPass. I use it all the time though, it's nice to have!
Same situation for my Job 1 car. Got 21P22 late (October) and the door code "trick" works. I don't have the option through the main screen, though.

TBH, I am not sure if the frunk code option was enabled via 21P22 or an OTA update. I happened to try it after 21P22, but no idea when it actually started working.

I too had 21P22 done very late and was nice to my service advisor. He bought his dealer's demo car and told me he had done every update. I told him he should be able to open the frunk from the door. He didn't believe me until we walked out to his car and he entered the code, pushed the buttons and....ker-chunk his frunk opened! I got an enthusiastic, "Holy sh!t!" out of him. :)

Lo-and-behold, when they were done doing 21P22, the door trick worked for me, too.

Then I did a little FORscanning....and even after the 4.1.2, I have this:

Ford Mustang Mach-E 4.1.2 Dissappintment 1672978307647

I've got a Job 1. What is the code for the door buttons to release the trunk? Probably won't work but thought I'd try. Thanks.

Enter your unlock code, then hold 7-8 for a second. The BCM and FTRM need to be updated for this to work. "4.1.2" is only an APIM/SYNC update as far as I know.

I would suggest that a group of Job 1 owners get on Twitter and tag the heck out of Jim Farley and the auto press about this continuing failure to update the cars of loyal early adopters!

Mine was also updated by a dealer, in early November.

If you have ever had the experience where you press a button to open the door and the door doesn't open until you keep trying or you open another door... Or if the vehicle alarm goes off when you open a door... I think any of these types of symptoms should prompt the dealer to install the frunk trunk release module update.

I come to this conclusion because of the apparent dependency chain between SSM 49676 (which calls for updating the BCM to address your door open concern) and TSB 22-2446 (frunk electric open enablement to clear error reported on IPC when BCM is updated).

I almost always have to press the Driver’s door open button twice. Sometimes I have to press it several time and on occasion I have to either unlock the car with PAAK or the door code before I can open open the driver’s door. To be honest, it seems like too minor of an issue to warrant a special trip to the dealer. Unless something else comes up, I’ll address it during the next state inspection cycle I guess ?‍♂

I completely agree. I only mentioned the opening doors issue to my dealer because I was dropping the car off for other reasons and figured I should give them a list of concerns since it'd be there anyway.

I only expected them to update door modules but they must have decided to update other things, too, or maybe they located that ssm I mentioned above. Whatever the case may be, I can now open the frunk from the b-pillar pad and the doors still fail to open on the first try sometimes. :)

this is me! The door button thing is such a minor annoyance but it’s frequent. The car can’t decide if the first button press unlocks the car and the second-third press opens the door. Sometimes it’s single press and the doors unlock and open simultaneously which is nice.

I exclusively use the manual lever to open the frunk. I can’t tell if the drama around the frunk button is real frustration or just people trolling, and now I’m too afraid to ask.
