Here's my latest, curious to get some opinions:
  • I noticed that sometime over the past few days, my OrderTrack.app readout changed from "ASN" to "picked."
  • Ford chat says: "I am showing your vehicle is in transit and was received at a ramp in Richards-gebaur, MO. There is no railway information as it is at a ramp waiting to be shipped."

Thoughts?
My Ordertrack is also showing "picked" and Ford chat also said my car is at Richards-Gebaur, a decommissioned air force base now used for storing cars that sounds like a medical syndrome of the lower intestine. Here's hoping our vehicles don't languish for weeks in this wormhole.

Storing cars at a decommissioned air force base does not sound like a short-term arrangement. This is sad. Model-T's delivered faster 100 years ago.

Every Mach-E shipped by rail out of Mexico ends up in Richards-Gerbaur for at least a few days. It's where the cars get off KCS. From there, Jack Cooper (Palsapp) will either transport your car by truck to another rail ramp for further rail transit, or directly to your dealer if you are in the midwest.

Consistent with what @NJ_MachE said, the Wikipedia link you provided says "The former airport is now used as the Kansas City SmartPort for Kansas City Southern Railroad to ship cargo to and from Mexico. Several businesses, in major agreement with the City of Kansas City and the State of Missouri, are removing the old runway and facilities and building a large truck-to-rail freight center, with above-ground and underground storage."

I checked in with Ford Chat yesterday as nothing has changed on my end (In production 4/19/22) no movement. They said the ETA is June 4-10 ? Almost laughable at this point if the car hasn't even been marked as built yet that it would come in the next three weeks. I really wish Ford was better with communication to the customer. For such a big expensive purchase it is pretty insane they can't give accurate updates on it.

UNLESS my car does show up in 3 weeks which would be quite the feat so I'll keep yall updated ?

Same here, my dealer says the car will be here between June 3-9, I will believe it when I see it...

Given my personal situation and given the option, I would have flown down to a facility like this to pick up my car and drive it home. Or, I would have happily arranged my own transportation. If transporting cars is going to be the next big new constraint in getting vehicles to customers, Ford may need to figure out other ways for people to pick up cars at designated centers. No way that the slow railroad and the Jack Coopers are going to be able to handle Farley's MME 2023 production estimates. I just read an article on the problems with the Jack Coopers businesses in the U.S. This is not fixing itself and it's not a problem Ford can directly fix; not that Ford can fix solvable problems.

I waited 8 months for my car to be built..I don't mind a bit of a delay in shipping. Knowing it exists is better than nothing. But I agree, the shipping could be smoother...
Only problem being the car isn't ours to take until... after delivery, inspection, and purchase.

One wonders if Ford should get into the car transport business--just bring it in house. My guess is they won't want to do that, not their wheelhouse (so to speak).

I'm thinking the Model T was just a bit less complex.

Let’s put time into perspective. What they knew then vs the benefit a century of manufacturing learning, computers, robotics, space age etc. It was still an assembly line and car delivery around the world. Was the Model T not more complex for it’s time? I don’t know. Ford should have this worked out by now.

Over the last ten days I have received four emails from Ford. 1) Built with a delivery in late May or early June. 2) Shipped with a delivery in late June. 3) Revised with delivery in late July. 4) Revised again to late August. I ordered this car on October 4, 2021. The facts here speak for themselves. Ford is making a big mess of a new customer relationship. It’s also obvious that they don’t care.

Holy crap, Late august? What are your details? Build week batch, location, built and shipped email dates? Something is happening- I’m sensing a wave of delays from others. What the hell?? Oh and I agree, they don’t care. I regret not going with the less desirable Model Y Performance. I would have had it months ago.
