I’m thinking American muscle is trying to get us some extra horsepower here, but I think they might wanna check the vehicle They’re trying to advertise upgrades for lol

Speaking of which, there was a I believe a premium parked at Walmart with a Michigan tag. I’m in Mississippi, but my tag refers to upper Michigan so I parked right next to him and then the guy came out while I was leaving. He was from Detroit, he said, I gotta have the wheels like that and he wants to get a GT, but he says he can’t go back to an ice car!

We understand our pre 2024 GTPE’s reduce power for multiple reasons. And for $$ the 2024 can have no limits. And a friend purchased a new IONIQ5 - that also reduces power .
Up to 601 hp (448 kW) standard. When N Grin Boost is engaged, IONIQ 5 N provides 10 seconds of boosted acceleration up to 641 hp (478 kW)

2024s still have limits.

It’s just that now the limit seems long enough to at least finish a 1/4 mile.

Will be interested to hear what the new limits are exactly when people start testing them.

It’s also unclear if the 2024 GT with 600 tq has the same old limits or not.

We know the $$ gets you 700 tq, but not sure if it also impacts the limits or not.

Of course Ford will never freakin give us important details like this……..

So, as I've read this entire thread and seem to understand it all.
As the NEW owner of a 2023 Leftover GT (more on that saga later... let's just say, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...) that I just bought on June 24th...
Has Ford said GTs will get an update to give us a bit more performance, like many of you metioned during passing maneuvers where the car loses its guts?

Did I miss anywhere that cars like mine that are a September of 23 build, with the better HVBJB, might get an update to extend this 5 second thing, or allow us to have all the power we need to make safe, decisive moves while passing, or on an on ramp?

I get them trying to preserve components but if it comes at my safety when sometimes we need to make a descision and go with it, I hate to think of power dying off mid pass, and being stuck in a dangerous situation, which would have been safe and over and done with with the on-demand power in my 2012 5.0 Mustang.

Sorry for being so wordy... any news on an update to give us more time than just the 5 seconds?

I've had my car for a while and I've also been around in this forum for a while where the 5 second limit constantly comes up, but I have to admit I don't understand how exactly it works and what the imposed "rules" actually are. A quick forum search also didn't help.

What I mean, is: When does the car reset the 5 second timer?
If I lift my foot off the pedal ever so slightly, does it already reset and I can go full power for another 5 seconds?
Or do I need to turn the car on and off to reset the 5 seconds? :D
I know for a fact that the latter isn't the case. The reality is probably somewhere in between?

I wouldn't count on any updates for pre 24s. The 24s upgraded some things including the motor(s). So you can actually buy a software update to increase performance which came out in the last few days. Bottom line, no change going to happen.

September is a couple of months before the current incarnation of the HVBJB was released. Your 2023 is in the same boat as my 2021 with an HVBJB that was replaced in August of ‘23 (LK9Z-10C666-B HVBJB). I will be blowing mine up again this summer so I can get the current part. ?‍♂?

As @zvez stated, don’t hold your breath for any software performance update. Ford officials are on record in saying that there will be a change to the boost limit for 2021-2023 GTs, but the timing of that change is nebulous at best. I’m guessing that they’re hoping that we will forget about it. Pre-2024 GTs do not have the same bus bars, rear motors, and other items as the 2024, so the 2024 solution will not work for us. ??

A September 2023 car doesn’t fall into the recall group that I know of. The only way to get the current part is to fail the one in your car. ??
