Good to read these comments about delivery updates being unreliable. Norfolk Southern tells me the train is reaching the terminus - about a 0:45 drive from the dealer - tomorrow morning. And like many on this page, I just got a delivery window update from Ford via text, 11/3 - 11/9.

I mean, it COULD take 8-13 days for the last segment if they’re having trouble getting car carriers filled and scheduled, but I want to believe it won’t be that bad…

Yeah they are quite random and bad. I am kinda hoping that mine missed getting scanned leaving MO but kinda doubt that

OMG. I'd have murderated someone especially after your wait!! My dad owns a paint & body shop and has since retired, so I'm right there with you after growing up around that - single use microfiber cloth per panel, foam cannon, clay sponge, etc. We took a bottle of detail spray and a microfiber cloth with us to get the bird poop off ASAP. Idiots at Ford or whatever had it on a flat car on the train, which is open air, so I'm sure it was like 3 weeks or so worth of poop. ? The guy that cleans the cars at the dealership asked what my hubby was doing and offered to do it. He was like nooooooope. LOL

Grab some of the Chemical Guys Decon Iron Remover and Wheel Cleaner. It took almost a whole 16oz bottle to do the car. We grabbed 2 just in case since you can use it for your wheels later. It was FILTHY!!! Spray it on before washing, etc and let it turn purple, then rinse and do the rest of your routine. Safe to use on the whole car. Their wash probably didn't get rid of it all.

I gave it the Decon treatment this morning then took back to the dealer to buff out the swirls and water spots. Going in for PPF tomorrow!

Well, finally an update but not a good one - just noticed when logging in to Ford and checking my reservation that my delivery window has changed form 10/21 - 10/27 to 11/23 - 11/29. I knew my car probably wouldn't make the original ETA, but why would it take six weeks or more to get from Missouri to Idaho?

And the wait goes on...
The email from Ford confirming the new delivery window came tonight...

Figured I'd add in a post with the detailing products we used on my MME in case anyone was interested. I've had a few people ask, so here we go. Shop around, I just grabbed links to show the products. Listed in order of usage:

Products:
Iron Decon Spray - Took almost a full 16oz bottle. We grabbed 2 bottles just in case since it can be used on wheels later. (Only need to do the whole car once. It is safe to use all over.)
Soap - Used this in the foam cannon on the pressure washer.
Clay Sponge Kit - Went with the sponge instead of the bar. If you drop it, you can rinse it and keep going vs a bar that can be ruined. Sponge should last longer, too.
Graphene/ceramic coating - We used this instead of paying an arm and a leg for professional ceramic coating. WAY cheaper and super easy to do. I saw how great this was on the hubby's Model 3 and decided to use it, too. He's had the car since June 2021 and has only applied it twice. Water beads off when it rains and it has a glossy look once applied. (It will be garage kept and won't be driven enough to justify paying for the professional application.)
Ceramic Glass Cleaner & Coating - This stuff is like Rain-X and Invisible Glass on crack! Super clear visibility.
Seat Cleaner & Conditioner - I have a small doggo so I figured I'd get some kind of barrier/coating on the seats ahead of time even though he hasn't ruined any seats yet. Hopefully it will help keep the seats from cracking as easily in the summer when it's hotter than hell here in southern-ish Georgia.

Accessories:
Microfiber Wash Towels - We used one of these per panel during wash/graphene. You'll need a good handful of these. They will be good for doing a rinseless wash for maintenance later on, again one per panel. Just make sure not to use fabric softener when you throw them in the washer/dryer after use.
Waffle Microfiber Drying Towel - You'll need a few. Same note about the fabric softener as above.

My original date wasn't until 2nd week in November, but then it got changed to 10/11-10/17... and it hasn't show up and apparently nobody can track it at Jack Coopers... Ford Chat says they can't track it, Ford New Car Assistance says they can't track it and dealer says they can't track it. They did say that it is "pending update" so I should get an update soon......... soon...... sooooooon.

I really don't care about the overall time frame. I knew what I was signing up for... However, after waiting this long and then being provided a date and having missed that date and having no idea what is going on is frustrating. The silos at Ford are also very frustrating. They all seem to have a piece of the puzzle but aren't able to put it together. It just seems silly that... somewhere... out there... there is a $70K+ car, but nobody knows where...

After harassing the dealer, it looks like ive been pushed out to November 29, which is 6 weeks after my original delivery date. That puts me at one year from car reservation/deposit. Not pleased, to say the least.

you should check with chat, if your car is still in ramp 6R in MO its the same place as mine. You can get the current location from the ford chat on the website with the VIN
