Interesting... The first time this happened to me they said it was a software issue so the ended up re-flashing ~6 modules. The car bricked itself again 4 days later then they decided to replace the BECM and the HVJB.Called the service dept. They said it was a software issue and they updated 6 modules….I’m a little suspect.
Damn this is my worst nightmare for this car. I too have a GT, 2k+ miles, and believe I was @ October/Job 2 build. Every time I read one of these horror stories, I am able to find a factor that doesn't apply to my car. Until now. Hope you get a quick, effective repair. Was on my way home, and now here I am waiting on the side of the road with stop safely now. HVB and power train errors.
couple more details
I have never do fast charged
2933 miles
Was an October Build (Job 2)
@Ford Motor Company - I’m at a busy intersection. My car is beautiful and it’s getting a lot of eyes, and will be stared at as it gets towed.
What is the deal with these issues?
Will post more later.
Well, got confirmation from both the dealer AND ford it was only a software issues. 5 modules updated, and all seems to be working.Damn this is my worst nightmare for this car. Too bad "only software issues" results in your car bricking and needing to be towed.Well, got confirmation from both the dealer AND ford it was only a software issues. 5 modules updated, and all seems to be working.
Agree. That’s worse in my opinion. Software shouldn’t brick cars.Too bad "only software issues" results in your car bricking and needing to be towed.
Though to be fair, a software issue semi-bricked my other car, which was also a new model for a different mfr.Agree. That’s worse in my opinion. Software shouldn’t brick cars.
Let’s hope this was the issue. There was a prior report of software repairing the “bricked” state, but that car went down again and needed an HVBJB and BCM. I’m hoping yours truly is a SW issue. ??Well, got confirmation from both the dealer AND ford it was only a software issues. 5 modules updated, and all seems to be working.
well to be fair it wan’t bricked when I got the warning.Too bad "only software issues" results in your car bricking and needing to be towed.
I will also add that a member of the ford team reached out and told me they also reviewed the diagnostics, and that this was a different issue than others had received.Too bad "only software issues" results in your car bricking and needing to be towed.
Doesn't seem like a scalable way to update the software on our cars. How much do you think that cost Ford, $2000+ at least because they don't have properly functioning mechanisms to update modules via OTA?Too bad "only software issues" results in your car bricking and needing to be towed.
