Yep. I have that one. Looks like I'll get the halfshafts done when I get the glass work done.

I heard everyone talking about clunking sounds and all I get is clicking, so I had thought mine was something else. Funny thing is it really sounds more like a relay or small motor.
I think it is two (or more) different issues. The thread is titled "Axle Clunk" but the issue being most discussed in this thread is the halfshaft problem. I don't think "clicking" is really a good descriptor, either. It is more like a rapid hollow knocking noise, like gravel in the wheel wells.

Then are there are a few people who are actually getting some sort of heavy clunk, mainly from the rear of the vehicle, and that is probably a motor problem.

It's all pretty confusing - the thread ought to be renamed or split up. Glad Ford released the SSM - I'd suggest a thread devoted to the SSM and then moving all the related posts there.

I see a new clicking thread with a poll just went up.

Mine is definitely not like gravel in wheel wells. Mine is clicking on hard turns, usually at low speed.

My replacement quieted the noise for a couple of weeks. Now it's back. They only replace one side, so maybe this is the other side.

With so many having this issue, I would hope a replacement would be of different design or vendor. That may be the case as the notice says built before 15-Sep-22. Otherwise we will be replacing them every few weeks or months.

I think that the issue is that the parts they are fitting have the same fault!

@gnaark in 4 updates. Would be amazed if you don't get a call back from them saying sorry, there's actually no ETA on the part, or it's on backorder, etc. They are used to parts only taking a few days or less, but hasn't been the case for this particular one.
hey so I got the car back today - it was delayed because they had a couple issues with the reseal of my roof, but they did swap the front left axle and got the parts in time.
I need to drive it more, but I didn't notice the noise when I rode back home.

I think the problem is that they keep replacing the half shafts with parts that have the same defect. hopefully ford will have redesigned parts before we are all out of warranty and have to foot the bill ourselves

At least in NY, if you have the car in for the same issue 4 times without resolution, you can ask to return the car under the lemon law.

My dealership said they will replace both halfshafts, they did a good job on the glass recalls so I hope the trend continues when the drive shaft work is done. :)

just got mine back after the half-shafts (both) were replaced. early testing looks promising but it will be a few days before I'm sure.
