So I was thinking, I would like it if ford added the option to see our battery condition in real time. Like battery temperature for preconditioned so we could see when it is at its best state. Also, I would like to see the current draw/temperature while powered on. Maybe a graph or numeric readout or the option to select either. Just thinking…

you can do this now with an OBD2 adapter and Car Scanner. there are also a range of after market OBD2 digital data display gadgets that are geared toward this.

you can do this now with an OBD2 adapter and Car Scanner. there are also a range of after market OBD2 digital data display gadgets that are geared toward this.
I am aware, I have FORScan, but I am interested in seeing the results in real time like next to my speedo or on top of it.

I observed 73 degrees last year when the car preconditoned the battery for DC fast charging. Every time, 73.

In the northern climate winters, you may not be able to reach optimal temp within the time the Nav starts preconditioning before you arrive at the charger. However, every degree helps and will allow a somewhat faster DCFC even if you don't reach optimal temp.

Last time I did precondition via the Nav, I watched the battery temp climb from like 65 to 90 deg F before arrival at DCFC. Seemed high, but after reading other places, it seems like this is what temp the battery likes to DCFC at.

Exactly. What is the optimal precondition temp?
About 25ÂşC (77ÂşF). The car targets 23ÂşC (73ÂşF) for DCFC. If you are DCFCing at a high power station, you want the battery warmer, like 35-40ÂşC (95-104ÂşF). Unfortunately the current implementation of en-route preconditioning is very rudimentary and is not able to get the battery anywhere close to 23ÂşC in winter conditions. It needs to run much sooner/longer.

For general winter driving 15ÂşC (59ÂşF) is acceptable and is what it heats to when using departure times.

It can't. You need an OBD adapter and an app like CarScanner.
