man I hope they make one for the mach e. I have a hitch bike rack that I love but I need a hitch that I can just hide away when not in use

the 'under bumper' install of the Torklift is pretty tight up under the black part.... It's pretty much out of view when you are standing up. With a nice hitch plug, you'd hardly see it, and you don't have to mess with install/removal of the non-stealth part.

If you were to install a 'totally hidden' hitch, you would have to cut a much larger hole in rear diffuser to reach the hitch connector bolt when installing/removing the drop-down.

If you like your hitch mount bike rack, I'd recommend the TorkLift without hesitation.

I'd also like to share that the 1up-USA.com rack is the best I've had in all my years of hauling bikes around. super solid, easy to use, all metal construction. comes with 1 bike 'tray', and you can add more as you want.... default hitch is a 1-1/4, and comes with an adaptor for 2" receivers

I have the torklift on my Mach-e, will post a pict in a bit, but I will warn everyone. I put my bike rack on it in the lifted position and it seems to partially block the rear sensors, so when backing up the car kept trying to brake. I had to disable the rear parking assist and that seemed to work. I will drive some more to fully trust it did the trick as my bike rack pretty much lives on my car full time....

Is that a Thule T2 Pro XT? That's the model I plan to put behind my Mach E.

It's the Torklift Eco that others have mentioned:
https://torkliftcentral.com/2021-ford-mustang-mach-e-trailer-hitch?v=4

And I'm using a cheap Allen rack I found on Amazon. So far, so good.

Thanks so much! I installed it today and love it!!

Below you can see a pic with the 7x3” outline drawn on the bumper that I stopped short of due to another post’s recommendation to not go the full length. I also went about 1/4” narrow, so 2 3/4” wide, which left zero gap side to side. It was slightly tight when I did that and had to shave a bit, but it’s great now.

The instructions were easy to follow except finding “hole c”. Hole c is located away from the center of the car (towards the outside) and you have to feel for it.

Also, someone said they had to square off their bolts to fit them inside hole c, which makes sense because I nearly lost my mind trying to shove the bolt in. I was JUST able to make it fit by angling it sideways and maneuvering it around.

Don’t forget to turn off the handsfree lift gate option or it’ll open right into the hitch as you put the bolt in! It’s strong enough to scratch itself.

Finally, I didn’t check until I pulled off the rack, but there is enough play in the bolts for the hitch to be crooked, which mine was. I had to undo everything and move it, then retighten. Just look at it from behind prior to tightening.

Below is the 7” mark from the instructions and the shorter cut I made that worked well.

Question: how long after you ordered did it take for the hitch to arrive?
Thanks!

Yeah! I live near Fox Run. Love it. I got super lucky picking this car up from someone who cancelled their order. I hope you get yours soon, it is incredible. Now I just have to make sure I don’t sling my bike off the back!

Update, the Thule bike rack I got has fat bike tire holders which are so large they touch the tailgate when in the stowed position. The bump out styling on the tailgate is large enough to make a very tight fit for most racks I think. I flipped them around and it doesn’t touch, but the bike doesn’t quite fit right. It works, but I’m going to try out the non-fat bike tire holders to see if it does not touch. Make sure you test this out on any rack you’re considering purchasing.

You can get extender that pushes the rack away from bumper....

That’s a bummer I have a Thule T2 and need the fat part :).

Did you have your mount installed somewhere or do you just have access to a nice lift? I am still debating about installing myself. I have done it before but never had to cut the car.

you can get 2"-2" or 2"-1-1/4" extenders of various lengths if you need to move the whole rack back away from the bumper... pretty cheap at a place like Harbor freight or anywhere as they are just simple square-tube.

I put my MME up on jackstands... but you could get by with ramps. You don't need to lift that high to get to all the diaper fasteners

The cutting was mentally traumatic, but easy with a sabre saw. Lifting the receiver itself into position and holding while bolting it in was tricky for one person, probably easy with two.
