BlueCruise safety problem

The thing that gets me is that it should be easy enough to write into the code that in a state like California the maximum speed limit *anywhere* is 75 mph, yet I have had the system believe that I was in zones with speed limits as high as 85-90mph.

This is an exciting feature when I'm in a 55 zone with cruise set to 60, then it sees 45 and slams on the brakes. I can't seem to find where to disable it though, maybe because I've Forscan'd the crap out of my settings. I went into Driver Assistance, Speed Assist but the only option I have is "Speed Warning" and it's already disabled. Am I just not seeing it?

I think it's under adaptive cruise control not speed assist.

Yes. It’s combined. Both speed assist for curves and speed limit sign reading.

turn off Predictive Speed Assist and it won't adjust speed based on speed sign recognition. it will still display speed signs in the IPC but won't actually adjust speed.

But the OP has a 2023 GT so I think your original instructions are correct. All 2023 models shipped with BC 1.2 and Sync 4.xx right?

correct - @generaltso just added that the older generation was being neglected.

Probably if the software has any doubts about changing speed it should alert you first. Slowing down, not generally a danger; speeding up, more caution needed.

I got a great laugh one day when I saw my '21 GT's "speed limit sign" change near downtown LA! If only I could... and grow a couple wings too! [One of the signs I passed had been tagged all over with graffiti, ha!]
