Everyone on this forum our Ford Bootlickers - they will defend their overlords through thick and thin as they rewatch Ford vs. Ferrari for the 12th time.
This is such a weak argument. Any time someone doesn't agree that something is awful, someone comes along and claims everyone is just a fanboi/bootlicker. Instead of the reality being, most people here are upset with Ford for one reason or another, but disagree with people that immediately just take the most negative take on anything.

Being adult is about nuance, it would be real nice if we as a whole could come back to that instead of just making our whole identity one extreme and accusing anyone that doesn't buy into that as being obviously the other extreme.

As for the OP, I think you maybe jumped the gun a bit. I would have talked to the dealer to find out what price protection or as someone has noted other rebates you may have been eligible for. When we ordered my 2022 our price was going to be $57k, but our window sticker says $59k. We were price protected for what we ordered though and got a check from Ford for $2k about 90 days after we got the car.

I know your situation isn't exactly the same, but I am worried you ran away from the situation a bit too hastily and there may have been more going on. It definitely doesn't sound like a scam though. Ford has been confusing with their mid-cycle options and pricing changes though which historically haven't been common. I think they were in too much of a hurry to move to this new BlueCruise subscription model (which I don't love) and should have probably waited for the 2024s.

Your furiously typed four-paragraph response to my two-sentence post proves my point ...

Shoot, when did I turn to a Ford bootlicker? I dont even have a Ford. Never have (yet). I actually was a Toyota fangirl for most of my car owning years. But sure, assume we all are Ford bootlickers instead of reasonable people who happen to have differing perspectives.

And I have only watched it 10 times myself - I can not stand you exaggerators!

As for myself I ordered a GT with a hard top and no BC and saved on cost when that was an option so I understand his desire but unfortunately he did order BC.

When people don’t have a valid argument, they resort to calling names. That’s when you know you’ve won the debate. Best just to drop the argument at that point. Nothing good comes afterwards.

Let me start off by saying I own a 2021 Premium AWD Ext Mach E and I love the car. I ordered another Mach E in Sept 22. As we all know, over the past 9 months, Ford has dropped the price of Mach E and presently today(6/1/23) you can go online a get a Premium RWD Extended Range for MSRP base of $46,995. My car that I ordered 9 months ago to be delivered has a MSRP base $50,995. When I asked Ford why there was a difference between online new builds and my previously order car they stated because it comes with Blue Cruise. I asked them to remove it because I didn’t want it, I didn’t order it (apparently it was standard when I ordered the car). Ford told me they can’t remove it. SO in other words, the price reductions published throughout the media comes with conditions and you might not receive the lowest price on a previously ordered cars. Be Careful and check the invoice closely. I canceled the car. I am not paying $4,000 for an option I do not want. To verify this is a true story. The 2023 ordered car VIN xxx PMA26750.
My advice - find a car you want at a price you're willing to pay for it and quit worrying what features and prices will be on tomorrow's cars. You were perfectly happy paying $50,955 9 months ago for a '23 but now you're not despite it being the same car you ordered at the same price (lower, actually, because Ford's offering cash towards your purchase now).

the invoice is padded with an option that can’t be removed.
Those are called standard features when they come on every car of that year/model/trim.

I’ve never seen that movie and my 2023 Mach-E that I picked up Dec 29 is the first Ford I’ve ever purchased

with this economy and Teslas dynamic pricing, you have to expect that Ford will make changes to compete

If the described is a scam, how to call what's tesla doing with their prices?
lol. Because BlueCruise is a pile of crap and AP actually works. Ford is leeching off of the success of Tesla, and then pretending to be a step above with the hands-free business.

Source: owned both.

Conditions: 36 miles LA commute

Score:
AP Tried to kill me 4 times in 3 years.
BC tries to kill at least once per day.

So why do I continue to use it? Because for $4k, it should work. And if I give up on it, then I will purchase something that works. And I dont want to do that.

I ordered my Premium last September and took possession 3 weeks ago. I got the January price reduction, which I wasn’t expecting, but not the May reduction. I got the $2,000 cash rebate, BlueCruise and a portable charger. Those two things now cost $3500. So I figure I came out ahead. And I drove the new car from Illinois to Arizona, 1700 miles. I absolutely LOVED the BlueCruise. I wouldn’t want to be without it now.

Not sure why you think BlueCruise is crap. I used it on a 1700 mile road trip and it performed absolutely flawlessly. Not sure what your problems are.

Ill elaborate:

*I have been across this country several times in other vehicles with "lane assist" technology, and given the relatively straight forward nature of some of our highways this older less expensive technology didn't have any problems either.

1. On my commute through LA and OC, there are multiple on/off ramps, freeway splits, and dividers. Because of this, BC switches back and forth between between hands-on and hands-off so frequently during this drive that hands-free doesn't effectively work. Keeping track of BC status adds more work for me.

2. Navigating certain turns on the 405 is handled very poorly... similar to Steering Assist on my Highlander and active lane assist on my 2016 Audi A3. Allowing BC to make this turn is dangerous and needs requires driver input (Auto-Pilot never had this problem). Again, not only does hands-off not work but adds a fraction of danger.

3. BC will sometimes straight-up cancel (without warning) on some gradually sweeping turns that it seems to be following well. Cancelling lets go of the steering wheel and the car changes direction. I have never experienced a cancellation of driving assistance in another vehicle. So even when BC is active, I STILL need to hold the wheel.

4. The Eye nanny is something that Im sure someone is going to try and argue with me about (again)... but the fact is that I can get similar behaving tech (or better) without it AND selling and uncharging for this feature that doesn't work and doesn't improve confidence in autonomous driving should be labeled a scam. Even if I disable BC, I still cant take my eyes off the road. Again, how long I take my eyes off the road is my choice, and no one else seems to be implementing it that way

5. BC is not aware of traffic. Auto-pilot has intervened on my behalf in traffic to avoid an accident. BC has not, again requiring me to intervene.
