Very much looking forward to paying from my screen instead of fumbling with a credit card in the cold during holiday travel!

Is Charge Assist just some marketing around Plug&Charge ISO 15118 standard ?
My Mach-E came with a free 3 year capability. I thought that Ford was one of the first EV manufactures to adopt this standard and put into cars - I wonder what makes Charge Assist Different ?
Maybe a Tesla NACS adopter is included ?

It's not quite V2G or V2H bidirectional for MME (Lightnings are bi-directional), but rather it makes it easier to open up the Blue Oval network to include other networks rather than just EA which is plug and charge.

Since EVGo's network offers true plug and charge and other networks such as Tesla may be also - will make it easier to use your Sync screen to select the charger and charge.

I think it's better to just pull up to almost any networked charger, select the charger, and start charging - all in one platform, tied to 1 single credit card.

Nope. It’s not P&C at all. Watch the video and you’ll see the session is activated from the Sync 4A app, then you plug in.

Tesla app works the same way for charging a non-Tesla. Open app, choose charger, initiate session, plug in. App-based initiation may be the way Ford will start working at NACS-compatible Superchargers.

Charge Assist is a new feature (not in the video linked to) whereby when you are approaching a charging location (has to be set in the navigation), an attendant will appear at the charger to assist you in pulling into a working charger, and plugging in your vehicle for you.

"We here at Ford realized that many people are new to EVs. As such, we've launched Charge Assist, a new program unique to Ford, whereby an attendant will assist you at any of 85,000 charger locations throughout the US. This program is free to all Ford EVs owners through 2023, and then will be available for a subscription fee of $19.95, plus tax, per month" said Jim Farley, CEO.
"At Ford, our goal is to both assist people in converting to EVs as well as having no less than 16 subscriptions per vehicle on the road".

As far as Tesla NACS adopting, adoption of adapters was outlawed by the US in 2019.

Well, I'm sure whatever it does won't fix the snafu of a canadian VIN Mach-E not being able to connect to EA with Ford network and probably the reverse true for USA VIN Mach-E on the Canadian networks. And I discovered last week every time i plug my Canadian Mach-E into EA my car talks to Ford and declines the charge forcing me to unplug and reinitiate a charge. then it works. Charge Assist... any time. any time.

And here I am wondering why the 30A mobile power cord is for the F-150 (and Transit) while the 32A version is for the Mach E…….? Seems backwards.
They damn sure look identical to me.

You are joking about the attendant and monthly subscription ?
