I don't think it's the louvers as that's just too far from the source sounds. Although anything is possible!

So far I think we might have isolated it if you read the last couple posts of this thread. Try popping the frunk and removing the plastic housing in the pictures above. Drive without it a couple days and if goes away apply foam tape as shown here by @Scooby24

The more people we have testing this the more we can be sure we've isolated the issue.
Thanks, not sure I am keen on popping the plastic pins that sound they will break when I do it :)

Welp... Bad news at least for me, the gremlin returned. We hadn't had any substantial winds so I was hopeful that Scooby's solution would work, but today with 15mph winds it's clearly still there.

Back to the drawing board.

Sorry to hear...did u hit the yellow spots? Also push around at the other plastic parts to make sure all snapped. I had one on driver's side not snapped.

I couldn't hear any noise today with crosswinds.

Pretty sure I got them all... Except the two on the cross member. I added those between the member and the plastic. We'll see if that helps.

Oh c'mon. There was some sarcasm in my statement when I said that. I have only broken one clip in my life and I just grabbed a new one from Amazon for $0.50

Here's what they look like:

Last place I could find any rattle. Ends pull up with clips. DO NOT PULL the center up. It's plastic riveted. Found that out the hard way.

Take your fingers and just tap them around all over the plastic. This is where you'll find the rattle and I'm almost positive this is the source of it...as the cross wind will enter the wheel well and cause a pressure differential which would cause these plastic pieces to rattle with the pressure.

I'll try this when I'm home tomorrow. Today I drove to the Bay Area and went over the Altamont pass and it gets really windy through there. I had rattle galore so the previous didn't help.

I have faith we'll find it one day.

Noise is not gone...and not changed at all based on my foam applications. Seems the rattle is entirely separate. I honestly cannot tell if it's coming from the bay area or the roof.

Definitely annoying and only reproducible with the wind blowing just the right way and with speed above 60 mph.

Yeah I have the same issue still. I poke and prodded around some more and I'm still not able to find anything. I've debated debadging a number of times as well thinking it might be that.

I have the whole frunk torn apart today, for a couple other projects and was going to take a look a little bit better to see if there's more I can find.

I appreciate all your help @Scooby24

One more thing I'm going to check with the frunk area is going to be the rubber bump stops. I just noticed my hood sits below the fender height a hair. I moved the bumpers up quite a bit and the hood didn't change height which makes me think they were not supporting the hood. After about 8 or 9 turns now the hood sits flush in height to the fenders so the hood is closed tight and being supported by the bumpers...if that was potentially causing any sort of vibration in cross winds that won't be the cause any longer.

I beat on everything in the frunk and nothing rattles now at all..so I can't see what else it could be in the bay.

As I was REALLY listening for it it almost sounded like it was coming from the top of the windshield...as I was lightly closed fist beating on the plastic trim between the roof and the doors, I could hear that had some potential rattle.

With the noise issues others have had with the windshield and roof I think next step would be for me to try adding some of the weather stripping foam in the gap between the windshield and roof.

When you hear the rattle next time open the glove box and see if it gets louder. I might be delusional, but I swear it gets louder when it's open.

hmm...one change recently with ours vs older ones that don't seem to have it as prevalent is the new air filter behind the glove box...

What exactly do you mean by that? The filter is behind the glove box still. I actually replaced mine with an aftermarket filter. So I don't have the stock one.

I thought the rattle was louder with the glove box open. I also recorded a video with my phone in the glove box, closed. The rattle was very loud then.
