I just tried to call and schedule this and the manager said not to bring it in unless it’s experiencing issues. But my VIN is identified as affected? So idk what to do lol
Since the SW isn’t available yet, wait a bit. Then tell them that it is having battery drain issues when you schedule. ??

FYI the fix is a SOBDM (on-board charger) update via FDRS. On some vehicles, the charger would keep waking up the car, which may drain the 12V battery in certain situations. Mobile repairs (they come to you) and pickup & delivery (they come get your car) are authorized at participating dealers. Programming should take about a half hour.

In most cases, the automatic 12V recharge logic will keep the battery from dying despite the glitch. To ensure this safeguard works, I would recommend that you do not park your car with less than 20% charge until you have the software update.

If no SOBDM update is available, you may have already received the software update as part of a previous CSP performed since December, such as CSP 24B17 - 2024 Mach-E Reprogram Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Module (SOBDM).

OK I guess I wait a few more weeks. Doesn’t matter to me since my car hasn’t exhibited the symptoms. ??
Mine has not either but I will let you know when it shows up or someone else might if they get to it first. ?

This is what shows up in FDRS for my 2024 Mach e. I wonder if I'll have to submit a request to do the update?

No, I think it will show up when it shows up. Same screen I have.

EDIT: As Lee said below, I already did this update in December myself and that is why it is not showing up for me even though Ford shows a CSP for my car. Only way it will drop off is if the dealer clears it. At least I have the update.

Are you guys checking FDRS sure you haven’t already had software updated since December? The release is dated today so it should be out.

EDIT: Updated SOBDM software appears to have been released on or around December 14th 2024. Vehicles updated since then via FDRS will already have it.

I just checked FDRS connected to my car a bit ago and that software is not there. Same screen as David had.

Anyone mind pulling my VIN and seeing if the update is available? I’m dropping it off at the dealer on Monday now. Thanks in advance!!

It does not show the SOBDM for this CSP but possibly the SOBDMC is similar? Lee would know this and might chime in.

The reason it does not show up on my car is because I have already done the update and only a dealer can clear the CSP on a VIN.

Roger that, thank you. Lucky you, my car will now be in the hands of the dealer!

I edited my reply to you. Waiting for Lee to check to see if the SOBDMC will satisfy the CSP or not. I don't see where you had any powertrain updates so this CSP has not been done yet on your car.

@cbcasas That's odd, but it looks like that vehicle already has the updated PJ98-14F476-AV SOBDM software from the factory (it was released for shipment right before the cutoff date). Still flagged for the CSP despite this. So you're probably good, but you may want the dealer to take a look at that and get those other powertrain modules updated as well.

When referring to Powertrain modules, is it just the BECM? Thanks for the insight, I look forward to letting them know (and them probably sneering at me)

Sorry, I probably should have mentioned which modules. The other two powertrain updates you have available are the BECM and SOBDMC. RFA is PAAK and IPMA is BlueCruise.
