Can't be done with the cheap, atrocious, awful, dreadful, lousy, junky, poor, abominable, unacceptable, POS cargo cover they've designed.

Mine is going in the trash where it belongs and I'm not spending my own money on a ASOK one to replace what Ford should have provided in the first place. At least the windows are tinted pretty well to keep curious eyes off the few things I ever carry.
Before you do get shot of this cover this cheep fix works for me. Just make sure you lubricate the spindle and washers before you put them together.

It looks like you have a bulge before it curves down behind the seats like I had before I moved the floor to the lower level I moved it after seeing posts of people breaking the tabs off when carrying heavy loads and spending big $ to fix it. It solved two problems with one move.

I’ve never had issues with my cargo cover. I do remember in one of the early pre-launch videos, ford was quite proud of the cargo cover. Apparently, it comes from some European ford. They’re proud of the flexibility and bendi-ness of the cargo cover, allowing you to put things taller than the cover in the cargo compartment in there, and i6 stretches to accommodate them without permanently deforming.
agree. and if you don't need it, put it under the floor.

I snapped the wire in mine on day one when I was trying to see if it could be twisted and folded up like a figure 8 and stored.

No, no it cannot.
I definitely folded mine up that way?

It's incredibly inefficient to drive with the windows down, especially at speeds that would make things fly around inside the car. So, no, they probably did not make driving with the windows down in a car that they wanted to squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of a priority

man, you guys can really find just every little thing to complain about with this car

Really... your idea of driving is always with the windows up in MAX efficiency mode? How boring is that? When traveling 70 mph+ on the road, non doubt windows up makes best sense. But I 100% agree with all the prior comments here that the rear valence cover was poorly designed... pure & simple. It flaps around at speeds of 25 mph... It should be more sturdy in composition & affixed in a better manner than it is today. That doesn't take rocket science design and I for one am disappointed that in a car at this price point wouldn't have better open air cruising with a properly designed rear cover.

My cargo cover is sitting in the garage. If I have something that needs to be kept away from prying eyes, I put it in the frunk.

I 3d printed the clips to hold it in place. I haven't had any issues up to 50MPH but i don't have them down often at that speed, usually 30MPH or less.

That is where mine as lived now for over a year. The cargo cover from my wife's car as been under the rear floor since 2017. It is something that seems great by honestly to me just gets in the way.

If you drive with the driver window down you will know what this guy is going through, it block 20-30% of my view at least.
I'm not doubting that the thing flies around, I am just doubting that it's something worth getting worked up about

Probably yes, and they probably didn't care. The reality with EV's is they never intend for you to drive with your windows down. Same reason most EV's don't have opening sunroofs. It kills the range. In the real world there are probably a good number of people that don't care about the range hit and like driving with windows open, but the car is designed for the masses.

I’m probably in the minority of people who like to drive with an open window in fair weather, but does anyone have a solution for stopping the mesh rear loadspace cover from flapping around at speed when a window is opened? Both my MME’s have had the same issue. Taking the cover out seems to be the only fix other than keeping windows closed at any roadspeed >50MPH. Irritating issue for me. Suggestions welcome…

Agreed, but with car loaded with tools it stays home hung up in garage.

I typically have some (expensive) tools in the cargo area when I am on the job, so I want the cover available when I am parked somewhere just to keep things out of sight. I discovered somewhat by accident that a large (2' x 2' x 1/2") foam flooring square that I use for a kneeling pad on the job sometimes is perfect to prevent the flapping. I just load it in on top of the cargo fabric.

I've also found that a small O-ring or rubberband on each cargo 'post' can be used as a retainer to prevent the post from unclipping from the hatch so easily.

...and when the plastic post splits and falls off the fabric, it can be re-secured with a good dollop of Silicone caulk inside the clip before pressing it back together.

So, there are some solutions, but the stock fabric cover is a very poorly engineered 'piece of rubbish'. Unfortunately, replacement covers such as the roll-up ones, are expensive.
