DIY: Key Fob with Frunk Button !

Ok, took me two tries, but worked perfect. Accessory mode and door open. I used my points to buy it, but they were gonna charge me $189 to program it. It legit took me 3 mins.

FOR SURE!!!! Thank you! It did take me a while to figure out where to put the key, that was the hardest part. Never had a Ford before. After that it was easy. First time I tried to read the directions and do it. Too slow. Second time I just did it. Duh. So easy. Felt sorta dumb. $186! Are you kidding?

The dumbest part is....I barely use the Frunk, but I want the option ? ? ?

I had them custom make it, but there was no upcharge. If you send them a picture of mine (posted), they will know what to do.

Was unable to get the Lightning key programmed following the instructions. Went to the Dealer and the Service Writer jumped in the car and tried the same instructions (from memory) but could not get the programming to take. FDRS and $90 I have a working Frunk Release.

Has anyone had any issues with the frunk keyfob button not responding? I've had a few SW updates since, and now it's intermittent on if it will respond or not.

Nope. Mine works great. Is it just the frunk button that's flaky or the entire fob? Maybe try a new battery?

Just the frunk button. The tailgate button works fine. I might have to dig into this some more...

Pop the front off the fob and look behind the frunk button. Maybe some of the plastic broke off?

My dealer looked in their system (supposedly) and couldn't even find the part # to order it. Does anyone have any info I can give then to find it?

I gave them a lightning vin and the part#.

I got the same story from 4 different dealer parts departments. I think there is some sort of latency in updating the individual dealer parts catalogs but I decided to take a break on my quest for a lightning fob out of frustration and wait to see one online.

I purchased Texas-E fob, since he sold his MME. I just programmed it last night. I followed the instructions with the doors closed, and it failed. Did it wil the door open, and it succeeded. I should have tried it again with the doors closed to make the experiment more scientific. However, I just wanted to have a fob with a cool frunk button.

How do those covers go on and off? There is no explanation on the sellers page.
