I just went (and still am) going through this chaos with my 22. It was at the dealer for 35 days and still isn't resolved. They fixed the door module fault, but the door constantly thinks it's open and applies the e-brake randomly and in situations that are dangerous. Ford should probably look at these for a recall since they were getting water into the modules.

I wish I had an answer for you but my dealer has been pulling their hair out trying to figure this out to no avail. They've replaced the plunger, the door module and fortunately the specific door fault error message went away but it still thinks it's open.

To answer your question the letters at the end of the ID represent the door but I can't remember which ones correlate. Here's a reddit thread with a bunch of links about this.

Although I can tell that he definitely needs to have the IPMA updated from what it shows there...not related to the door issue, but....

Oh, and any DTC that starts with the letter "U" means it's a network communications related error. So bad connection, or something on the network interrupting the comms between modules.

@Ford Motor Company - should really consider looking into failed door modules as a recall or TSB. People reporting their doors opening while driving, or the e-brake applying while driving at low speeds is wildly unsafe. Mine is still unresolved.
Agreed. Mine was flinging open while driving tooks months to resolve and what would have been thousands if not for my Extended warranty.

Does the extended warranty you can buy cover these sensors or not?

Yes my PremiumCare covered it, I have the $100 deductible.

Visit 1 in June - replaced door lock mechanism, fixed the random openings ($100 deduct) would have been $900
Back 2 weeks later - I was getting a false error, so they replaced the door lock again (no charge)
Back 2 weeks later - still same error so they replaced the wiring harness in door (no charge)
Back a few months later - still getting same error so they replaced the actuator (no charge, error gone)

That was all 1 warranty claim as the errors continued after each service attempt. And on all of the above I WFH, so they came in the morning, took my car for the day, then delivered it back, so no inconvenience for me.

I had this exact issue not too long ago. It ended up being the little square block that pushes open the door when you press the button to open the door. It wasn’t extending fully and came up with a faults I had that replaced and the issue was sorted, Ford charged £500 roughly but was covered under my warranty

Yeah, transmission not in park, door malfunction error and then hill assist was also disabled. Because the car thinks the doors open or not closed entirely. Therefore it comes up with notices such as the transmission one. Ford will charge for the investigation and then around 450£ for the full fix. They will also have to order the part most likely which will take a week. Depending on where you are based.

Also, the transmission thing is related to the car not having auto stop on when you come to a complete pause, and the car engages the hand brake I believe, like stop/start in normal engine cars. Hope all this helps anyway, once the door latch is sorted, all the rest clears up. The other thin I would say is, a lot of people have reported blowing the dust out of the latches and removing any debris which could also be what is causing the issue, after doing that they said that the car was back to normal.
