This all started maybe a week ago and I cannot fathom what is causing it.

The button on my driver door to open it is functioning. If the car is unlocked and I press it, it opens. The issue I am having is if I approach my locked car, it refuses to work.

all 4 door buttons light up, and if I press any of the other ones, they work immediately. For example, I can press the driver door button 40 times and nothing happens. I then press the driver side back door and it immediately pops open, along with the driver door.

Anyone have a clue what could be causing this? I know taking this to a dealer will just be pointless.

my 21 just had the 'keyboard actuator" replaced and ssm 49676 performed on the BCM. I think my button got borked with it being cracked just above the button. There was more than the hair line from the button to the lock button on only the drivers door. I had less than a 50% working button until they worked on it.

I did get into a situation like you describe twice. I hit the back door out of frustration. Pop, opened the drivers door. I'm sure we uttered the same words.

The only door that will open initially is the one that detects the key (or phone) directly in front of it. It sounds like your drivers door isn’t sensing the key. Once you open the rear door, all doors unlock, so sensing the key is no longer necessary.

It could be a hardware or software problem.

Hi there. This door concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I've experienced the same situation in the last week or so......if car is unlocked (in driveway) , press button door opens......at store, door lock "button" will not lock, need to use rear door, to open locked door must use rear door button.....of course, I can use the fob, no problem

Just had the joy of this starting up as an issue on my MME. Sounds like I’ll need to get scheduled with the dealer. Any idea if they’ll correct this free of charge if it’s a module update?

I never even took mine in to the dealer. The day before I was planning on taking it in, it randomly started working. It's almost like a software update happened to fix it.

I'm having the same problem in my 2021 Mach E. It started happening out of the blue. I'm not sure if there is any thing I could do without needing to goto a dealer.

Some people have had some luck "fixing" door button issues by disconnecting the 12V battery. But it doesn't always work and whatever the issue is might even come back.

I had a different issue with my driver's door button than described in this thread but eventually had to take it in. They replaced the whole button panel trim piece on the door (has the door button module on the back).

Add me to the list here. I only use the key fob (i.e., no PaaK) and recently the proximity unlock for the doors has stopped working, maybe last week and a half or so. I have to press the unlock button on the key fob to get the doors unlocked.

Side note: it is a little inconsistent in that a few times it does work. But by and large I have to use the fob to unlock the car. Also, this is not the first time its happened and does seem to happen after a software update is pushed.

Hi there! I can look into your Mach-E's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

My timing is similar to yours. Paak was never trust worthy for me, so I always used key fob. My Mach E is 2021 made as well, but not an FE one. Proximity unlock not working has been more annoying now that I have to take my keyfob out to unlock the car, and this is something I had not done in over a decade on any car model.

Has there been any progress on this issue? I too seem to be affected by the issue (proximity lock/unlock not working).
