I had to remove the frunk and found the electric frunk pop. I unplugged applied 12v and it works. I was a little too busy to install a button but it looks like, when allowed, Ford should be able to add this feature. If it doesn’t come out in the near future I plan on installing buttons to do the frunk and the trunk.

Make sure you don't shoot it the juice and back-feed something fussy.

Nice! I wish there was a physical dash button to open the trunk. I'm surprised it was left out especially since they did a great job giving us standard controls and a mini dash. Tesla was a turn off with almost no buttons or dash display..

Yea that’s why I did it with it unplugged, if I end up doing the button I would use some diodes to prevent back feeding. I’m sure this thing is one big computer and I’m not trying to fry something.

Sounds like it is there to be added by a feature upgrade at a later date. Maybe with Blue Cruise (Now with remote Frunk operation!)...:p

Lots of good OTAs coming later this year :). I'm hoping most of them hit by the time my GT arrives.

Where are you guys reading about a future automatic frunk OTA? This is the 1st I've heard it mentioned. Has any 3rd party made the automatic or hydraulic Frunk lift struts (like they have for the Model 3)? With the frunk divider it seems like the most logical grocery bag place; but makes no sense to have to reach down into the floor board and yank twice. Looking forward to getting my car in less than 2 weeks!!!

The current use of that solenoid is the emergency frunk release activated by applying 12V to the wires behind the cover in the front bumper. Used in the case of a locked car with a dead LVB. Make sure you don't inadvertently disable that system.

We've heard this from unofficial Ford channels multiple times and have posted it here in several threads. It should be a Q3 OTA.
