I have to ask... in Sweden/Norway everyone I know who owns an EV is using charger "robot" like similiar to this in their homes. Is that not the case in the US? I have this 22kw charger which cost like 500 dollars after the 50% green energy deduct. You can have several and one as a master if you have more then one EV. Never seen anything like that. We use a JuiceBox or ChargePoint wall charger or similar.

Before I had the Grizzl-e, the Ford mobile charger would occasionally get an amber light on it and stop charging the car. No idea if it could be related, but now I'm wondering if there could be a bigger issue with the install. Oh well, I will have an electrician out to take a look! Thanks again!
Single amber flash and a pulsating blue means the connector is getting too hot on the ford unit. Could eventually lead to a solid Amber I assume.
Im curious, did you unplug the Grizzl-e of the mobile unit or leave them plugged in?

Oh, I definitely unplugged the Grizzl-e from the wall outlet and now have my car plugged in with the mobile charger to a standard 110v outlet for the time being. Definitely don't want to keep charging on the 240v and risk burning down my garage with my MME in it.

You’ve mentioned risking burning the garage down twice so I’ll just say this:

You smelled an electrical burning smell for a “few weeks” before trying to figure out what’s causing the smell? Yikes!

Note to future self- if you smell a burning smell, stop what you’re doing and figure out where it’s coming from the first time.

Yeah, I dunno man, maybe just me, but a burning smell in a garage., the outlet that charges my $60k vehicle would have been the first thing I looked at…

What you are calling "robot" many people in North America call "charger" even though this isn't technically accurate. In the UK and maybe elsewhere in Europe, it's usually called "wallbox."

But they're all essentially the same. The technical name is EVSE -- Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment.

In North America, our EVSEs always include the long cable and coupler that goes from the wallbox to the vehicle. In Europe, some of your EVSEs have this cable tethered, but many (like your Robot) use a separate, detachable cable.

It was really strange. Yes, it concerned us, but the smell was really strange. It had not been a clear electrical burning smell or anything. It was really a very faint smell, sometimes it wasn't even there at all. The smell was almost like something that was chemical like (like possibly the smell of various types of road salt and other ice melt that has been used a lot in the Chicago area) mixed with the smell of rubber. It had not really smelled like a true pronounced burning smell until yesterday. And we had definitely spent time trying to identify the source of it, but nothing had really seemed to be a source of it. Oh well, we've gotten it figured out now and will hopefully have it taken care of ASAP.

I really like the detachable cable. It would make public installations so much cleaner and easier to maintain. I stopped by a charger yesterday and all of the metal prongs on the charger handle were completely exposed. Woof.

It was a melting plastic smell because that's what was happening.

Yes, unless you have experienced an electrical fire, the "acrid" odor isn't something most people would immediately identify as "fire".

Now, you'll likely remember that smell for the rest of your life, it is so unique.

Also, as you said, it tends to be transient. I'm glad you found it before it got worse.

When they replace that outlet, and they will replace that outlet, tell them you would like a commercial grade outlet. They have better components in them and they aren’t much more expensive.
That is technically a commercial grade outlet. What you mean to suggest is an INDUSTRIAL grade outlet.

OP, go on grainier and get these:

Robot? According to the web page you linked, the thing is "revolutionary", "smart", and "green" (yet comes in many colors!). It is no less than "the future of electricity!"

But apparently you just shove it into your car and it charges the battery. Yeah, we got that here.

Sorry, I did not mean anything by it. It was just a question. I see now that you call it EVSE. ?
