Still not understanding why 0-60 times are different from the compare specs section on the Mach E page to the ordering section battery selection page. .3-.4 seconds different between the two.
Because Ford is very slow and has only updated part of the website.

That's not true though, both have been updated but with different numbers.
That could be from 1 set being 0-60 from a dead stop vs 0-60 with a rolling start. Or it could be that 1 set is the "current final" number after tweaks and the other set is "former final" numbers based on testing and tweaking. Engineers love to change things

And are those 0.3 seconda THAT important? The vast mayority of Mach-E owners will not care about such a small difference. I prefer a slower unit and a $2,000 or greater discount.
I told my wife about the improved 0-60 this morning. She said she didn't care but would love to hear it has more range.

I think so as far as I can tell. What that means is the larger battery is able to discharge at a higher rate than the SR battery. The difference between 4.8 and 5.2 is major. That is something you will be able to feel for sure.

I am glad you clarified the difference in speed is major. Since I don't race off from 0-60, I didn't think it was a big deal with a 0.4 sec faster 0-60. Now I see why in another thread, the question was posed asking if anyone would pay $2K for performance boost of 0.5 sec. Of course I said heck no.

Ithe question was posed asking if anyone would pay $2K for performance boost of 0.5 sec. Of course I said heck no.
But there is no performance boost between the Premium and FE. The AWD ER Premium gets the exact same 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds as the FE, no?

That's correct. The $2,000 reference was regarding an option Tesla performance boost announced just a day or two ago.

It's almost an 8% improvement.

That 0.3 may be the difference between your passenger having yellow pants vs brown pants when you gun from a red light.
Note to self: find out appropriate protection for ActiveX seating material.

My gf has a very practical, not-that-fun take on these kinds of things - "how fast can you get to the speed limit? because after that, who cares?"

she does like to beat people at lights though ?

yeah, it's one of those things that gets amplified as the vehicle gets quicker.
a half second in a mini-van is barely perceptable since those might take 8 1/2 seconds to go 0-60. When you are down around the 5 second mark the difference it much more noticeable. 2.5 seconds to 60 vs 2.1 seconds is breathtaking......blurry vision kind of thing. :)

It's almost an 8% improvement.
My 2005 GTO does it in about 4.7 seconds unless I screw up the launch.....then it's about 5.2 seconds. Can only do it once and then I have to let the clutch cool off. I wonder if the Mach E 4x needs to cool off as well. Would be interesting to see if it can perform multiple 4.8 second bursts to 60 without overheating the battery. The Mach E 1400 has a ton of cooling fans.....

That's what I was wondering too. I thought mechanically they were the exact same thing.
