My MME arrived with the front plate bracket. If anyone is looking for a new, used Craigs custom bracket, DM me.

I can state for a fact there's no plug that's going to work unless it's flexible and can conform to a contour.
Thanks for sharing this. I bought bumper plugs but have been unable to remove the front license bracket myself. Now I know I shouldn’t even bother and will return the plugs instead.

Happy to sell you my Craigs custom bracket as I have a feeling my car will have the front bracket (am in CA).
Ditto. My Craig's bracket is for sale if anyone wants it.

Looks good! I have had my dealer remove the front license plate bracket from my order and hopefully the factory will follow this and not install the OEM bracket (I do live in Illinois which is a front license plate state and was told the factory would install the OEM bracket anyway). I, too, have a Craig;s license plate holder and am going to place the baseplate in the same location you did. What is bothering me, however, is that it looks like the license plate is only connected to the top 2 positions on the plate with screws and it is hanging free and unattached at the bottom of the license plate. Doesn't the plate move in the wind or cause noise because it's not anchored the way it was intended to be with four screws (2 on top and 2 on the bottom). Is there a way to be able to connect all four screws on the Craig's frame? It looks like you could do that but the plate wouldn't hang at 90 degrees rather the bottom would be held closer to the bumper. Would the plate still be readable at that angle? It just seems to me that the plate should be held in four places rather than two.
CORRECTION: There are no screws on the lower edge as was pointed out on another post. There are rubber stops on the lower edge which appear to me should be in contact with the bumper to prevent movement in the wind and also to keep noise level down from plate vibrating and hitting the bumper. Could you have mounted it that way?

I went ahead and installed Craig's bracket. It fits well and I think looks respectable. :)

Are you planning on putting any kind of felt or rubber between the plastic bolts and the bumper?

I'm worried wind/road vibrations will eventually mar the paint or dig into the bumper.

I don't think the shape of the Craig's holder is such that there is anywhere to screw down the bottom two bolts. You could probably get some strong double sided tape and tape the rest of the plate to the bracket as well as the top two bolts.

I went out to the garage and opened the box to look at the frame of the Graig's plate and you're absolutely right! There are two rubber stops on lower section that apparently are meant to touch the bumper. So the plate will not be held a 90 degrees most likely on the bumper but bend inward on the lower edge..

Yeah you can't see it in the photo but the plate holder is an L-bracket of sorts, so there is the ability to tape it down to reduce vibrations.

The two rubber nubs on the back of the plate holder are longer than the heads of the bolts, so the rubber would contact the bumper before the bolts would. Additionally, I adjusted the distance such that the rubber has bit of clearance and is not in direct contact with the bumper

Such a shame that Ford didn't have their wonderful design team (more likely a couple of interns) spend a little effort to make a low profile bracket once whomever it was made the decision to install them at the factory. I would have done the design for free if they asked ;) Looking at this photo I can already imagine something that would fit well with the design.

Too bad I don't have a 3D printer, world be an interesting project to create a replacement using the same 3 holes they already drilled.

Nice front end BTW.

I went ahead and installed Craig's bracket. It fits well and I think looks respectable. :)

Picked up the car last night, manager of the dealership (one of them anyway) said that Ford told them they are now required to install them at the factory for specific states. It wasn’t a big deal on delivery since I knew it was going to be there, but he went out of the way to let me know. Not sure I am convinced how accurate his info is but the signs are there.
