Yes, I stayed with 10AWG since the highest draw I have seen doing FDRS updates is 43A. ??
I will be installing 2awg because I like to have the capability to export up to 1500watts or so when camping or running tool chargers at job sites.

I’m toying with the idea of going bigger on the cables, but it’s extra weight that I am not sure that I need since I only use the jump point for FDRS updates. ?‍♂?

OMG, really, worried about weight in your Mach-e ?!
....well I can relate to a degree ;) leftover from my bike racing days when grams mattered.

If it makes you feel better, do what I did and removed the under-hood plastic tub cover, and the rear 'beauty' cover... and leave them off. I think I weighed them at close to 11#.

or, switch to lighter wheels and AL or Ti lug nuts. I dropped 6# per wheel doing that, and since it is rotating weight its 'worth more' when accel/decell.

I also swapped out OEM seat for a Corbeau and dropped 14# per seat or so.

I felt better about added a 45# receiver hitch after the mods I did even though I have no intention of tracking my MME

Old time hot rodder and aeronautics dog. Weight always matters. No A/C in my T/A because of weight (hollow headed bolts in some places too). My new MME wheels are significantly lighter than the old ones. Tires are bigger, so they’re heavier, so that more than cancels out the rotating mass benefit. At least the unsprung weight is down. ??

I actually use the frunk tub for groceries and take-out food, so it remains unless I know I am going to beat on the car (rarely). ??

There was a thread about adding access ports to the jump points that should have been there to begin with, particularly when the plastic cover already has a + and - molded into it in the exact locations where these ports should be.

These are not my images, and I'll try to find the original post but I did have the saved locally along with a stencil to guide the port placement. With that said though, there is no need to remove the frunk or even the panel to do this.

Edited:
Here is the link with stencil and details where I obtained the below pics for this mod:

I do like to monkey around and do things with the car, but I kinda gotta go along with you. I really wanna keep it as simple as possible and this works for me perfectly thank you.

So here's the 2024 frunk without the tub: 😁🐩

There were a lot fewer masking tape flags floating around in there. I guess they did a better job when installing the harnesses of getting rid of them. ??

Another thing I noticed was that on the 2021 there were unused grounding bolts along the driver's side strut tower. The 2024 has them all occupied. ??

Oh, and the 2024 frunk tub is lighter than the 2021 tub, by quite a lot. No metal support underneath, and thinner walls. It only uses 6 bolts to hold it into the car, where the 2021 used 10. ??

Compared to the post from 2021 there is a tub of green missing on the far left of the 2024.

Thanks for sharing! Always fun to see under the plastic.

Yeah, the coolant bottles were both removed and replaced with a single bigger one in 2023 Job 2, I think. There are some other changes too. ??

The liquid ABS finally more or less cured around my threaded inserts, so I got the beauty panels and jump point back in. ??

My refrigerator died yesterday. First time ever putting any ice in the frunk. ??

I'm pondering where I will be locating a similar/same jump-post in a location not requiring lifting the hood. How weatherproof do you feel that enclosure would be to splashing and rain?

And I'm assuming it could be altered with some kind of effort to improve the weatherproofing if necessary?

If I can succeed at the endeavor, then the LV battery failure won't threaten to inhibit door entry, is my thinking.

I copied Steve’s jump box in the same place. There is a seal on the bottom but it doesn’t seem robust enough to be in a wheel well.

A box in a box maybe?
I'm pretty determined about this. Not in any hurry, but I am going to get external battery access. Something marine tough.

Is that the vehicle with the “mini-frunk”?
