What is all the fuss about on the frunk.
It can be opened from inside mechanically, and electrically from the keypad on the door. Maybe it should be on Fordpass, but it's not a big problem.
Job 1 cars only have a manual release. it cannot be opened from the door keypad absent updating modules at the dealer, at your cost, and not all dealers will provide this service, paid or otherwise.

Get your dealer to update your car.
I did ask my dealer about the Frunk for Job 1 vehicles - service department had no idea what I was talking about. Hope is fading rapidly!

The mechanical lever is all I've ever used and I have all of the options. The fordpass option is not really that useful because you have to be in bluetooth range, in which case it's faster to just open the door and pull the lever.

My Job 1 car is at the dealer today for State inspection. I asked the do the programming to activate the Frunk release. They said they reached out to Ford and Ford said its coming via OTA update in the future but don't have a date when. The dealer said Ford won't pay for the update the dealer would have to charge me. Such a poor customer experience for us Job 1 people who put up with some many issues in the beginning with this car. UGH!

Yup.

I have no doubt that’s what your dealer told you as well. At this point, however, it’s safe to say it’s not coming via OTA.

I have a job1 2021 premium but this last week I ordered a GTPE. I'm curious, when did the frunk button on the fob become standard on US cars?

The only way to get a Frunk release fob button for the MME in the USA is to buy a Lightning fob and program it for your car.

It didn’t. There is no factory MME key in the USA that has a frunk button. As @Kamuelaflyer said, you have to buy an F150 Lightning key and program it to work with your car. ?‍♂?

that's surprising. As it is the frunk is pretty useless, I've only opened mine once in two years.

Just got 3rd remote from eBay, programmed it and now works!

Notice the 3rd key fob back looks different ??
