I voted for moving to another vehicle. The Mach E is a pretty good vehicle, lots to admire, especially the range if you get the bigger battery. However, the unresolved issues for my model year, namely HVBC, and the bucking bronco suspension have me looking for a different vehicle instead of keeping this one long-term.

own the car for 10 months and put 16,000 miles on it. not really much to complain. it does his job to move me and my family from point A to point B . couple of software bugs but does not bother me much as they are gone once you restart it and I would say 99%+ it is trouble free. the wireless carplay is not very reliable so I disabled it on the phone and I rely on connecting with USB to have carplay, works 100%. sometimes I lost drive mode, but after 20 second, you can get it back on and no impact to the driving. i am satisfied with ranges as I can get 260 to 290 mile with full range on standard battery , except for Dec, and Jan (I am in houston) , of course, I have 50/50 highway and local. I would like to see how 30,000miles, 60,000mile and 100, 000 miles to hold. just bought OBDII and would like see how the battery hold after 16,000miles

I am 74 and have owned many cars. In 2 1/2 yrs (26000 MI) my mach e has spent a total of almost 2 months in the repair shop
It has currently been in the shop for 5 weeks and counting. Neither Ford nor the dealer can give me an estimate of when the needed part will be available.

I have asked Ford and the dealer (Seelye Ford in Kalamazoo MI) to take the part from another vehicle on the lot (their website says that they have several), but have received no reply yet.

I like my Mach-E but after my 3 year up on blue cruise, I will be switching to a different automaker. One with longer range and cheaper hands free. So the reliability won't be a problem because I will trade before warranty runs out. $800 is not for me or mirror wind noise.

We are really pleased by the car in terms of reliability and comfort after 1 yr, 10k. The only issue we had was in the middle of a long trip my car play stopped working, but my wife’s had no issue. We were pleased by the energy efficiency on long interstate drives but learned strong headwinds at 80 mph take a toll ;-). Plug and charge at EA was a flawless experience for us so I can’t relate to complaints about them.

Good luck finding a perfect vehicle. I haven't experienced any of that except sluggish display but that doesn't have anything to do with reliability, like at all. Also taking to the dealer for minor issues is just an exercise in frustration or worse they'll charge you cause they didn't find anything wrong.
I own the perfect vehicle. My 2000 Trans Am. It works, never fails me and does what I tell her to do. 23 years, 65K miles and I have put a water pump in her because I don't drive her enough and I put a radio in her.

Sure, I have done the brakes but those are wear items.

GM built me a solid car.

This is a purely un-scientific poll and simply based on what you THINK with the experience you have had.

For me, after 9 days at the dealer (and the dealer sucks) and all of the software issues, I don't have faith that Ford can make the Mach E right.
The display is sluggish, the random errors are mind boggling (drive mode) and no complaints would be complete without PAAK.
The hatch randomly stops when you close it, key fob, foot kick or button on the hatch.

I plan on moving on but I don't know what to get next.

Don't crucify me. Just answer the poll and lets chat about it.
I test drove the Mercedes EQE today while I am on day 14 without my Mach-E. It was pretty great!

Did you buy a used 2021 by any chance? A Job 1 2021?

Job 1. My mistake.
Not necessarily a mistake. It is still under warranty. You just need to find a competent dealer that will apply all of the updates to the car to fix the issues. Clearly the previous owner(s) and dealership(s) failed to do that.

We do have the ability to update the software ourselves using FDRS. I just got my 2023 Mach-E GT Performance edition last week. I currently have a 2021 F150 Rocky Ridge and I learned over the years how to use the FDRS software and can now update my F150 along wtih the Mach E on my own without having to go to the dealer. You do need to purchase the Ford Mongoose Cable ($500 Buy it here from Amazon) and purchase a license from Motorcraft to use the FDRS software (Link to FDRS software and license info), but over the years with my truck, and now the Mach-E, it has been WELLLLL worth it! I updated the Mach E over the weekend and it had about a dozen software updates but it's good to go now, and no issues so far.

Screen shots after it was all updated.

If interested here is the info on how to use it from the F150 forum. It's basically the same as the Mach-E but its all documented on how to use everything.

I was involved in this thread from the beginning but there are a lot of people that documented it and helped so many people learn how to update their own vehicles.

Also info located here on the Mach E forum... The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan) | MachEforum - Ford Mustang Mach-E News, Owners, Discussions, Community

I'm the original owner. Dealer says the applied all updates.
Still POC.

I don’t understand why people have such a high opinion of Ford and their cars.
Your vehicle reliability is mostly random, luck of the draw.

My least reliable vehicle ever was my '89 Mustang (four cylinders, baby!). I could bore you with the looong list of things that went wrong with it, and we could never find the exact source of why these things happened. I once had to make a 400 mi trip with only 3 of 4 cylinders working to get home, and another time had to start it with a screwdriver because the starter relay went out on me.

My most reliable vehicle ever was my '99 Mustang. 18 years, 250k+ miles, and the complete list of things I had to fix:

Two alternators, which cost me $150 bucks each and took me 30 minutes to replace, and a fuel pump ($800 for a mechanic to put in because I was pressed for time to do it myself). If I didn't have kids to haul around I might still be driving it today.

Let's see how my third Mustang does. (rolls the dice...)

There are various people on this site who if you give them your VIN will be able to find out if the dealer has actually updated the car properly. What is the latest OTA update you have gotten?
