Ok what am I doing wrong? I have a premium RWD extended range Mach E and after 2 weeks my max miles on 100% is an abysmal 246. Do things like lane keeping and cruise control eat into range? Or do I really have to never use AC or the seat warmer? I’m not a crazy driver so I’m pretty surprised as I thought I’d get over 300 for sure. I do whisper on the highway and engage on the streets. Should I be turning off the display? Daytime running lights? Any help would be appreciated!
It took mine 6000 miles to start showing much more range

Oh wow ok, good to know. Thank you!

And thanks to the other reply with a new thread for me to read! I might also reset my driving history as some have mentioned. I also just checked my vin with the decoder and at least I didn’t get shafted with the wrong build so that’s good ?

Nothing. You’re not doing a thing wrong. The range indicator is referred to as a GOM in these parts. Guess O Meter. It will get better as time wears on and you get more varied trips on it. It also heavily factors most recent trips in its calculations. When your car is new, it’s had a bunch of trips of less than 1/10 of a mile that used up energy.

Take my car for example. AWD, premium ER. I live on the side of a volcano. Every trip home is uphill for a fair distance. My GOM averages around 220 miles when full. Yet my lifetime car use has a 3.7 miles/kWh average. The average equates to a 305 mile range.

It’ll get better.

So did mine. The GOM was consistently showing 220-240 (extrapolated to 100%) for months, but then it started creeping up. I'm at 6700 miles now and passed 270 (EPA) for the first time on the latest charge. Not sure if a recent OTA might have tweaked the algorythm.

But of course, that's only the GOM, not the real range. The real range is your mileage (miles/kWh, i.e. MPK) times your battery size (68 or 88 kWh). My overall MPK has stayed pretty consistent according to the trip meters. So it's not really that my true range has increased, it's just the range meter (GOM) that's calculating it better now.

Two weeks? its still brand new...give it time. You've barely got all the plastic off...

6 months later my CA Route 1 charges up to 305 miles on the GOM (ER RWD). Just took a longish drive with it yesterday (100+ miles) and got 3.7 miles/kwh out of it which works out to about 325 miles of range.

Necroed AND technically off-topic!
? I didn’t realize until after how old and how off topic but I guess better than getting scolded for opening a new thread on a topic discussed to death ?
