I really hope this can be fixed! I have really sensitive hearing as well. If it's in mine I will notice it. I am wondering now if this is one of the reasons the added the different mode sounds - just to cover up potential sounds like this.
It's audible to me through any of the driving mode propulsion sounds. Even unbridled at full throttle doesn't cover it up, only constant music covers it through my ears...

I think wherever possible we have to try and get solo test drives of our Mach-Es before purchasing. In normal times, it would already be a little distracting to try and focus on the car with a salesperson there talking throughout, but now with a mask on and windows open if the salesperson is there, would make it a lot harder to try and focus and see if anything like this is present.

I also vote power supply issue. Noise from switched-mode power supplies is a common byproduct and must be accounted for in the design.
I hope they get it fixed for you promptly!

Oh yea - definitely the little instrument cluster screen. It goes away when that times out and turns off (by getting in the car with the key and it "wakes up", but if you don't turn the car on it'll time out and turn off).

Here's a video where even played back I can clearly hear it... You may need to turn your volume up.

Yup I can hear and it would be annoying to driving me nuts

If you don’t have enough miles put on, I would consider returning it to dealer or sending it back to the company for a replacement as you will have constant sense of it’s presence and make the experience less desirable for the rest of the cars life.
Lol that’s not how it works even with lemon laws. It’s under warranty they have to fix it

The Illinois lemon law states that if you have your vehicle in 3 times for the same warranty issue and it's not fixed, they have to replace it. At least that's what it was 10 years ago - could be different today???

I think once purchased you give opportunity to the MFr to fix the issue snd if not fixed after several attempts the discussion of returning the vehicle comes in. In this case if Zford says this is in spec then yes it’s up for discussion I think but otherwise give Ford chance to fix.

California is similiar, I’m not sure there is a fixed number of tries just a ‘reasonable’ number of tries given the issue, but they still get at the very least two shots.

For something like this, I agree. Will let the dealer handle a fix, and go from there. No reason for me to jump to returning/etc. I love everything else about the car.

Absolutely...We're kind of going off on a tangent with the whole lemon law discussion.

Shocking because we never veer off-topic on this forum! ? ?

I forgot I used to regularly point out those noises back in the CRT days. I'd walk into a room and instantly hear it even though the person thought it was off. Now i have a constant ringing in my ears -- probably from years and years of working in loud server rooms.

Hopefully this isn't too noticeable or maybe it is a one off thing.
Same with me. The one advantage I have Patrick is that after 40+ years of flying airplanes I can't detect the sound as annoying although I can hear it once it was pointed out. My upper-frequency hearing is shot from decades of propellers and turbines. I'll have to rely on my wife to detect it. ;)

Let's hope there's a quick and easy fix for this.

Yeah CRT monitors snd TVs had that high pitched “hum” or “whistle.” Rather annoying I thought though most people didn’t hear it or notice.
That type of noise?
I'm one that hears those. I remember as a kid walking through stores like Sears with my parents. When we'd get near the section with the TVs, the whir was almost deafening to me. But no one else could hear it.

My hearing seems to be slanted toward higher frequencies. Where I struggle more is hearing lower frequencies (like voices).
