Hi! Thanks everyone for your posts, they have been very helpful. Just put money down on a premium Mach e, p

We started looking at an expedition then once we test drive the Mach e it was over. So now scrambling to get things ready.

My question is in regards to home charging. There seem to be many options. Getting a little confused trying to understand what is best for the Mach e. the most common options being:

Ford
Chargepoint
Evo
Wallbox
Juice box

Hard to figure out which one is best for the Mach e. New to EV.
Sounds like I would want one that
1. helps with keeping charging during off peak hours
2. Help control so that we don’t charge past 80-90%

3. Want some future proofing in case of getting future EV, may be different brand car in future.

not sure if we should just have them install wiring for 2 while doing wiring? (No specific plans for a second EV for a couple years)
mare some units

Any help is appreciated in making the right choice. Why you chose the one you did pros and cons. Thanks in Advance

Welcome! First thing I would do is check with your electric company's website for rebates on home chargers. My company supported 2 brands so I chose a juicebox 40, and they mailed me $500

I have a ChargePoint Home Flex.

Sharing my home’s laundry Dryer 30 amp circuit using a “Dryer Buddy“ splitter Because my main house panel is maxed out. Ran an 8 gauge cable inside a conduit from my house to garage.

upon first start up ChargePoint had me input amperage of circuit breaker so it knows not to draw more the 24 amps to charge my Mach-e.

under this scenario my car receives 27 Km (16.7 miles) per hour. Easily brings my Mach-e from 20% to 85% over night.

Any "smart" charger will do that.
2. Help control so that we don’t charge past 80-90%
No charger will do that. The max charge needs to be controlled in the car.
3. Want some future proofing in case of getting future EV, may be different brand car in future.
All of the chargers you listed, work with all available EVs. The only exception is Tesla which would require use of adapter (included with Tesla).

I chose chargepoint hardwired to 60A circuit because I could and wanted ability to charge at the fastest rate. Others feel that a charger connected to a 14-50 outlet gives them some flexibility.

You can program this in the Mach E and use a dumb EVSE.

I recommend you start by searching for threads with EVSE or charger in the title. Your questions are very common ones that have been discussed repeatedly.
