No one said you had to escalate it. If you are in that situation and need the charge to get to the next station then wait for the dirtbags to come out of the store, get in their car, and leave. When they do you take the spot and start charging. Confronting and escalating is optional
I just want to point out all I was doing was sitting in my car waiting for this particular Tesla owner in question to get in his car and leave.

Next time I am not going to roll down my window even the fraction that I did, or say anything. Honestly when the guy came over I was not expecting him to go ape s*** like he did. I thought he just wanted to let me know how awesome cyber orange looks in the sunlight ?

Heh, of course I have no plans to escalate in that situation, but my point is again, if you get two dirtbags (one wanting to charge like the OP) who is an a-hole like the Tesla owner, this is an easy fight waiting to happen.

Why I don't have any plans to use these EV chargers (even the free one at my local mall) and I hate going to gas stations too.

Remember: some Tesla owners purchased the because they are pompous bigots.
The clown in this case was uneducated, misinformed, had no self respect, and a complete bigot.
Not all Tesla owners are this extreme (my, perhaps naive, opinion).
Unfortunately, this is the real pandemic we are facing as a country and a world community of humans.

He was not even plugged in and charging.
No Tesla chargers at the Walmart organized crime place?(I never, ever go there)

Sorry for what happened, money can't buy manners. Looks like they even left the shopping cart there. Always good to have a dashcam going.

I found that the thing I missed most about "gas stations" when using EA chargers was not restrooms or food, as most EA chargers are near such, but soapy water and squeegees to clean the bugs off the windshield. I ended up buying a squeegee, some paper towels and a bottle of windshield washing fluid and sticking them in the Frunk. Then I realized EA stops also do not include trash cans... I was happy to find EA charging stations included at some truck stops along the interstate and not at Wal Mart.

I read that Shell is considering adding charging to their fuel stations around the country. I hope they do.
For what I know, yes they are, at least in Europe. While charging we have time to spend money on sandwiches and coffee ??

My biggest beef with the EA stations (which I otherwise find fairly reliable) is their lack of utility for an after-hours charging session. I was on the road from Cleveland back to SE Michigan last week, and I stopped at an EA station at 9:15 pm for a 30-minute charge. The station worked ok, but I was hungry and needed to use the bathroom. The adjacent grocery store had just closed and the closest fast food chain (Arby's) was drive-through only, which meant I couldn't access their bathroom.
All you need is a bumper-dumper.

Of course it can be resolved by law enforcement and property owners….. there’s a reason California has a homeless crisis with a lot of the homeless being from other States;)
I think I can imagine the California solutions to the homeless crisis. They will require every homeowner installing portable poop stations (like they have for dogs) on their front lawns, with running water, paper towels, and a dispenser for syringes. And it's better for you keep all that clean. You don't want your children to learn about hepatitis too early.

It's a beautiful state and one of the few places where you can drive a hour to get to the beach, an hour the other direction to get to the snow...
Well, we can do that in NJ too. Oh sorry, do you mean in the same day? Well, the water might be a bit chilly at the beach...

I had to double check to see if that was my post!

I have the squeegee, towels and some winded too. My wife and I have a running joke about the lack of trash cans.

Exactly. Not politics, nor geography. I've met really nice people everywhere I've been, and assholes everywhere I've been.
That’s the nice thing about being canine. You smell assholes everywhere you go! Most are pretty nice. ??

I took my new GTPE to the nearest EA station to my house today to try DCFC on it for the first time, and to see if Plug & Charge would work.

I got far more than I bargained for, as out of the 6 spots, one had an ID.4 charging, one had a broken charger, and 3 were taken up by 2 Teslas shopping at Walmart, and one by a homeless person living in their van parked permanently at an EA stall.

One of the Tesla owners (I think it was a Plaid? who cares) had the entitled attitude enough to come over to my car and go into a Teslarage as I waited for him to put his shopping in and leave. He was a big dude and was looking for a fight. (Hear his delightful banter here: )

I called EA while charging, and they basically told me they couldn't care less about the ICEd charger or the fear I expressed for my personal safety at this location.

I just gotta say that I'm glad I didn't have my family in my car, and that these fundamental ownership experiences need to be improved if Ford and EA want to legitimately compete.

I am sorry you went through that experience, but in the parking lot of Walmart, it is their responsibility to get that VAN out of the spot. Call the police and have them remove/towed. Walmart's store manager would have been a better person to call. EA just puts the charging spot on their property. Issue on the property, call the property owner/management = Walmart.

That Tesla owner is a douche. He just go that car too (temp plates on car). What is really funny is he would charge faster at a Tesla supercharger.

I'd really like to see what is happening in Norway; inclusion of charging stations at gas stations and travel plazas. That way you have a relatively safe and reliable stop where you know you can find a bathroom. I'm honestly no fan of charging at the outside edge of a Walmart or Sam's Club; this is a really unappealing way to charge.

Fortunately, EA is adding charging stations at the Ohio Turnpike travel plazas; that is a great start and fantastic diversion from the Walmart parking lot model.
We've been at that one, grocery store closed, all restaurants drive through only. Had to wait and drive over to the gas station a block away.
