After searching, apparently simply taking a smaller drill bit and drilling into the pin @ the center of the rivet works as well.

But what you did instead was soften the rivet with heat gun and push in the pin?

Exactly....some people might be able to just push it out with out heat. Seemed a less risky way than drilling for me.

Well, I don't have a heat gun, but I do have a drill. So using a 1/8" drill but, I drilled into the center of the rivet so as to push in the pin. Was rather easy, though you do lose the pins behind the bumper. Used a trim tool to pull out the rivets. All in all a pretty easy removal - 5 min or so.

Will plug with some bumper plugs I ordered (supposed to get them today).

Now time to install Craigs bracket...

I would take a look at your window sticker.
I agree, when I ordered mine I told the salesman I did not want the front license plate bracket. He deleted the no charge item and commented that if it isn't in the car it won't be installed by his guys. Mine arrived with a clean front end. Now we know it is a factory installed item so if you don't want it; tell your dealer to delete it from the order.

Also drilled out my license plate. Didn't think about it before it went to the PPF shop, but my partner was able to run back over there with a drill and quickly got it off so they could put the PPF behind it.

Gotta go get some christmas tree clips to put the bracket back on though. None of the license plate bracket clips I have are small enough to fit the pre-drilled holes.

Since Michigan doesn't require fronts they aren't getting installed at the factory. Wish my dealer would have been proactive enough to delete them (they also expected it to be a dealer installed item), but there has been some chatter that the system is reapplying the bracket before the sticker is generated, even if the dealer deletes the item from the order. We are still waiting to see if the delete option even works for states like Ca.

I have not seen this happen with previous orders from Ford or other manufacturers. Extra "special" feature for the MME assembly.

I removed mine.

Step one- wedge 4 fingers behind right side of bracket .

Step two- yank the thing off shattering said plastic rivets.

Step three- place three new plastic rivets to fill holes.

Are the rivets plastic? After they are heated do you punch in the middle?

Followed the instructions here. Will admit that using the drill on it gave me a little anxiety, but made the process a lot easier. I ordered 2x packs of bumperplugs (2 each) and I think it color matches just fine.

If anyone is looking for a single Carbonized Grey bumper plug, feel free to DM me. Definitely can save you $$$ from having to order a whole second pack.. (thanks Ford!)
