Yesterday I was driving with my wife and daughter to grab some breakfast and oncoming down a two lane back road was a black Mustang GT, probably 2015 or so. As we passed each other, the guy flips me off and you can see him yelling something out of his window.

I just laugh. Imagine getting that bent out of shape over someone else’s purchase. Honestly, there are much bigger things in life to get your panties twisted over. Like losing to a 2.0T Accord

This morning a mid-'00s Mustang pulled up next to me at a stop light. He goosed it and took off when it turned green. I just waved bye-bye to him while I let the IACC bring me up to just beyond the speed limit. Maybe I should have blown him a kiss? A big, slobbery doggy kiss. ??

I had a 70s-era Stingray sit stationary in front of me at a green light for 5 unnecessary seconds the other day, just blocking my way in the middle of otherwise-moving traffic, before tearing off in a tire spinning cloud of smoke.

Sad thing was, it was easy to keep up with him. Really easy. Silent-and-casual easy, staying immediately behind him for a quarter-mile until I reached my turnoff from the main road.

All that noise, smoke, and wasted gas and tire rubber, just to be slow. Must be tough to live that way.

I was/am getting a lot of goofballs wanting to race, I just turned 54 and have never had so many hot rods trying to race me.

I am guilty as charged because I know I can eat them alive (and I am kinda liking it), RIP Vette, Gas powered GT, Some goof ball in a jacked up dodge 2500, Camaro, Charger, Challenger, (should have never challenged me) Kia Stinger.

In my opinion, Ford has a bad habit with names for cars. I owned a 2002 Ranger Edge and next thing I know it, they put that name on an SUV. The Ford 100 was renamed the Taurus. I owned a 1966 Mustang 2+2 in 1970. I wonder if the Mustang Car drivers just hate that the EV is a lot cooler than what they drive and are just mad that it's called a Mustang. We love it and it seems like most people like it. No on the road aggression or evil looks.

The more gas prices go up, the more they blame the government on forcing EV's down people's throat, which leads to the hate on the streets.

I personally don't agree with the government picking winners and losers. I bought my MMe to be energy independent, in combination with my solar, so I really take exception to the hate towards me. I'm not the one forcing EV's on people, nor did my purchase reflect or back that up.

People think everyone that drives an EV thinks that everyone else should drive an EV, which is not my opinion.

Exactly. Same here. The Mustang style cues and name are great! But I'd never want an actual Mustang because it's a low sedan/sports car. My days of buying low sedans ended 20 years ago. It's SUV or CUV for me now. Even the Mach-E is a bit shorter (63" height) than what I really wanted, but it was close enough. I hate low vehicles. ~63" is the bare minimum I'd want now (70" would be about perfect). Looking forward to some truer SUV EVs coming out later this decade.

I’m interested in the ride height. Do you step in or butt first/swing legs in? Never got a clear answer. I’m only 5’4 so I assume step in. Drive a Ford Flex now and I step into it. I doubt I will find a Mach-E I can test this on.

My sister-in-law restored a Pinto to match what she owned back in the day. The Pinto isn't as hated by many people who owned one of them in the 70s. I doubt she would buy a Pinto EV, though. She's as die-hard "not-a-Mustang," and anti-EV as they come.

Butt first. I have to hold the steering wheel then lower my butt down into the seat, then swing legs in. I am 6'1 though, so most vehicles in this size class are a "get down in" motion for me. That's why I wish it were somewhat taller.

Our 2001 Escape was the perfect height. The seat was right at butt height to where I just slid right in (not up or down). It sat about 5" taller than the Mach-E.

I just came back from a road trip to LA (SoCal) and had several ICE Mustangs pull up and pass me. One did this on the I-5 Grapevine at night, they slowed down in my blind spot and then flew pass me at ~90. I think it was a 2021 Mach 1?

I’ve also had some Semis box me in when I need to change lanes in the freeway to continue. Good thing I have the AWD package. This is in the Bay Area, so I assume they are EV haters.

Within a month of getting our Mach e we had a silverado try to “roll coal” at us. I was startled for a moment but felt quite flattered that someone wanted to blow $7 worth of diesel exhaust our way.
I love both of these cars though, regardless of the name ?

Note that that was the 2001 Escape though. 2001-2012 were SUVs that were a tad taller. The 2013-2019 Escapes were medium-height CUVs. The Mach-E is about 3" shorter than those Escapes. (We still have a 2013 Escape.)
