Tl;dr: I was able to work with my dealer (Sil-Terhar in Broomfield) to get a used car for several months while I waited. The process was excellent and gave me a lot more flexibility than a lease. It might be worth talking with them if you really need a temp solution.Thanjs for the info! I'm in Colorado. I've been looking at dealers within 500 miles of me. RI would be a bit of a trip. Shipping is an option.
Details: We got hit by a drunk driver who totaled our car in February. I decided I wanted the Mach-E as a replacement but knew the timeline would be âsummerâ to fall. I looked at different options like leasing, those car âsubscriptionsâ like Audi and BMW offer, etc. but wasnât I happy with the various cost/time commitments. I called Sil-Terhar and just told them my situation and asked what options they could offer. They found me a reasonable used car they felt would hold its value and made the process super simple; it took like 3 days. I havenât gotten delivery of the Mach-e yet but theyâve asked me a few times if Iâd be willing to sell the car back early because of their low inventory. Itâs worked out great for us so far. YMMV but my interactions with Sil-Terhar have been nothing but great.
