Is the Mach-E really 7 years behind Tesla?

Would the hotel charge the same rate as Tesla or an even higher figure? One fast L3 charger compared to six slower L2 chargers and what is the chance that the "one" L3 will be ICED by a Pickups?

If you'd ever had an EV, you'd realize an L2 charger is not just practical, it's perfect for hotel guests. Much better to have multiple L2 chargers than one L3 charger. When you eventually get an EV and road trip with it you'll understand that.

At a hotel you've got people staying there for hours at a time. So more, slower chargers are much better than fewer, faster chargers. ...Otherwise the front desk is going to be waking people up at 3 am to move their car for the next one in line. You just need enough juice to charge your car in 6 or 7 hours while you sleep.

How many hotels have paid for a L3 installation themselves? We can point to multiple chain and "mom + pop" locations that have installed L2 chargers themselves.

Yes, for those driving ICE vehicles. Isn't of any use to them. But it's very practical for hotel customers that drive BEVs.

30 minutes per charge--err. at 2 am, Hotels are not going to be calling rooms, knocking on doors telling the owners to get out of bed and get in their car for a charge or get in line for the next charge.

Oh there certainly need to be retail L3 chargers in strategic spots (especially spaced well on highways between cities for road trips). But I was specifically talking about hotel chargers. Hotels that go to the expense of installing BEV chargers are usually going to want them for their customers. And their customers are typically people that check in in the evening and check out in the morning. The ideal capability for them is an L2 charger that they just plug into when they arrive and unplug when they leave. Just like they do at home.

BEVs simply aren't going to grow from niche to mainstream if they're a pain-in-the-ass to deal when it comes to fueling. 30-45 minute charges are a PITA. But plugging in overnight isn't. That's the same reason why the vast majority of BEV sales will be from people that can simply plug in overnight at home. If they don't have that capability (and instead have to rely on retail charging stations all the time), few of those people will even bother buying a BEV.

Tesla for example, the app for the car will tell you your 30 minutes/200 miles are up and the $5/minute fee has begun. That will get most folks out of bed pronto.---How in the heck does this wake you up from a sleep when your 12 th spot in line finally becomes available?

If that's what it takes to own a BEV, then expect them to only remain a small niche. Very few people would put up with having to do that. It's impractical and unrealistic.

Again, if people have to make a reservation just to refuel their car, then expect very few of those cars to ever be sold. The vast majority will just stick to using ICE if refueling is that much of a PITA.

Of course, if EA happens to be installing a charging station next to a hotel, then fine. But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about any chargers that a hotel might be installing.

You just keep proving you've never owned an EV. Not practical? I've stopped at dozens of destination L2 chargers. Never once have I had to wait. And each time, the charging rate encouraged me to stay and spend my money at the business. Again, buy an EV, get some experience, and then come back and bless us with your wisdom.

Yeah, right. Guess what? L2 charging "cuts it" just fine at hundreds, maybe thousands of destination chargers. You'd know that if you ever drove an EV.
