Hi everyone.

Is anyone having issues in getting their HVBJB recall done in Canada?

I live in BC and I had an scheduled service appointment in a dealership in New Westminster.

When I came for the first scheduled date at end of January, I was informed that they had canceled my booking ( which I had done on the begging of the month ). The "EV specialist" wasn't there and they only thing they mentioned was that they tried to call me and because I didn't picked up, they canceled. Checking my phone, could only see one single call from a number that might have been them, coming from New Westminster on the 16th. No other contacts or sms messages sent to me.

Also, when I first called, I had to push back on the service representative and explain that for this recall replacement parts were necessary as they kept talking about software updates.

Now I'm trying for the second time (unfortunately in the same dealership) and this time they seem to have ordered the parts ahead of my scheduled date, which will take 3 whole weeks to arrive from USA ) and they will have it available by March 6th only. At least this time I will also get a loaner car.

Hey @Ford of Canada @Ford Motor Company , any way to expedite that some how? I'm almost a month and a half waiting to get this recall done and even the "EV specialized" dealership seem to be lost on how to deal about those recalls.

I will just say it appears that many people are also having to wait for parts in the United States. Not much that can be done at this point if Ford does not have parts available other than wait. Car is still driveable - correct?

I just took my Mach-E into a local Ford Dealer (Ohio) for a different issue and they called to ask if I wanted to get the HVBJB done at the same time. They said they had the needed parts and that it would take 3 to 4 days to complete. I setup an appointment for later this month. Does 3 to 4 days sound reasonable?

No. It takes less than 1 day. 2 days is the max they would need if they went slow.

Not unreasonable but the recall, I believe, calls for up to two days just in case and the actual part change out is less than 8 hours.

Seems right but I wouldn’t complain if it takes longer since the loaner car is a new GT.

I just took mine in Thursday and had to rebook because they said the recall notice mentioned it would take 8.5 hours and they couldn’t get it done on the Thursday and were fully booked and sick employees so couldn’t get it done on the Friday. I’m taking it back Wednesday. Fingers crossed they get it done.

The main issue is not the part waiting time, its just the complete and total unpreparedness of Service People for this recall.

As I mentioned, I had to almost push back and request them to check better about the recall being made by mentioned that this required replacement of parts and make sure they had new HVJB available ( which they didn't , although at least now they ordered one for me specifically )

In my first attempt, they simply canceled my booking with the excuse that I didn't pick up a call they supposedly did to me.

This should all be more friction less, but I guess that it might be just this dealership that is dropping the ball.

It may be the dealer but the process is to contact the dealer, have them order the part, and schedule the work after it arrives. The HVBJB is not a part that most dealers have in stock and certainly not the part numbers specified in the recall as they are new numbers. Not really anything new to the part though as far as I understand other than the contactors.

I dropped off(Actually, My Ford dealership offered delivering loner within 20miles, and they took my car to dealership) the car in Jan 19th, and still nothing update. I called them 3-4 times and advisor said they ordered part and it is backorder, No ETA.. My Loaner is better than mine so, I am just waiting.

In my first attempt to do the recall (where they canceled my appointment). When I called to book it. I explicitly asked if they had the part readily available to execute the replacement and they confirmed they did… ?

I’m waiting my time and making sure I get a loaner while I wait my car to be service as I’m not trusting they will perform the entire process in one day.

Recently tried to get recall done. New part is on backorder - no date given to me by dealer. They said that if the HVBJB goes bad, there are re-manufactured parts available to keep it running, but that the recall requires new parts only and they are not available right now.

Anyone have any thoughts on current parts availability for the HVJB recall?

I called dealer about two months ago, shortly after the recall was announced allowing part replacement and got on the list. At the time it seems like it was maybe a week or to wait for the part to arrive. Fast forward to today and the dealer still hasn’t received the part, alluding to a backlog. Is that what anyone/everyone else is experiencing?

This is for a 2021 AWD First Edition, FWIW. Haven’t experienced any issues, fingers crossed. But I don’t drive like a banshee, either.

I have a 2021 FE and had the recall done last week. They had my car for 4 days but everything seemed ti get done OK. I was given 30,000 points + a $50 gift card + a new phone charge pad.

My car is finally being service at the dealership, however they mentioned that they had to order parts, thus delaying my service.

At first, for what they mentioned initially, it seemed it was the HVBJB that they had to order ( and which I explicitly asked and was assured they would order before me taking my car to service ), but after giving a call to Ford Canada Customer Service they got in touch with the Dealership Manager which provided more accurate information.

They mentioned that upon inspection of my car, they needed an additional part which had to be ordered: NK4Z-10C666-E or Junction Block Connector.

I'm wondering if others also experience similar issues, with additional parts needed to be ordered to complete the HVBJB recall program.

Thankfully I was given a loaner car, so I'm not stranded, however, this whole things could have been way more smooth.

Will update here as soon as I get new information.
