I got 4.3.5 yesterday and had a charging session last night, still with the same issue. No change. If these harnesses really are faulty then hopefully there will be a recall associated because I strongly believe they were already faulty from factory for the update to affect it.
My dealer has been informed it now charges like crap and I would like it fixed. He is waiting to get the next steps from Ford.

Also got 4.3.5 this morning which is another update to rule them all (think we had an update for updates before). What did they break with this one ;).

So I’m going to chime in on this thread. Because I believe I have the same issue on my wife’s car.
I posted a long thread early this spring where her car was heating up the charge port and the connector her Grizzl-E charger when set to 40 amps. It would then throw a charge fault and stop charging altogether. Same when she plugged her car into my charger. Slowing the charge rate to 32 amps fixed this. I should note that this began right after she received some update (4.1.2 I believe but don’t hold me to it).
Anyway we had the charge port and wire harness, as well as the SOBDM replaced. Things looked OK. But as we’ve been driving more over the summer, and plugging in with lower percentages, the car isn’t charging at the speeds it should. Last night it was plugged in for the entire 8 hour charge window and and pulled 57% (just under 52KWH). The car showed it was pulling 6KW, far less than the 9kw my car was getting from a twin of the circuit/charger setup. I can switch which car is plugged in to which charger and get the same results, her car charges slower. The EVSE plug handle that her car is plugged in to, gets warmer (by touch and by infrared thermometer).
I haven’t done any data logging on what any of her sensors are showing or seen if fans are running or not. All I can say is that since the update in December, her car throttles L2 charging speeds despite Ford having the car for over 6 weeks. And it isn’t anticipated throttling because the car doesn’t start charging before my set window, which shows that the car believed it would reach the charge target. But then I wake up to the car still not being completed and showing that it only averaged 6KW power.
So I’m hoping to join this discussion and see if we’ve learned anything or if we can prove to Ford that they’ve somehow messed up level 2 charging for us.
90KW x 0.57 / 8hrs = 6.4 KW/hr 32 amp is 7.7 kw so 84% efficient makes sense. Welcome to the 32 amp charging club. Mine messages it will miss target every time it starts the schedule but then may make it. It is down to 32 amp now also. My charging handle gets warm but nothing that is not expected. After 2.5 years of working software now says it can not.

I’m hoping that by turning down her Grizzl-E that the car will at least recognize when it won’t make target and start charging early. So dumb that my GT works fine, with all the same updates, but her’s, even with new parts, can’t handle level 2 charging.

So, a better poll for this is Prem VS GT rather than job/1/2

The elec/mech is different in the front end of the GT so may be different hardware/firmware in the GT line? Possible.

Just want to plug it in and it behaves. Babysitting a car is not my thing but it appears it has become my thing. Drive, charge and maintain itself is not asking for too much. Does only the first one well to date but has got better (auto self preconditioning in the cold helped). Still waiting for the holy grail update. Need my charging back and remote departure scheduling (EV cold weather remote start) working and I would be good. Just has taken a long time getting bugs out and now new are appearing. Functioning remote departure scheduling has become a frunk button except we had it and then it was taken away.

Chiming in to say that I think I'm now experiencing the same problem as everyone else in this thread. I'm using a Wall Box Pulsar Plus set to 48 amps. It is hardwired to a 60amp breaking. I've been running this setup since I've had the car, which is March 2022.

I have 2022 Select. The issue just started to day, but the EVSE keeps alternating between 10.4kw and 7.7. It started at 10.4kw and then an hour in it switched to 7.7kw. Now it's at 10.2. I've never seen this behavior, including when I last charged at home, which was 7-8-23. My vehicle has the lastest updates.

I would delete the public posting of your VIN and DM it to Ford directly. Personally I don't share my VIN or my license plate publicly on the forum for security reasons. Just like I would not post my home address and phone number.

I would redact the VIN in your quoted section. Now even if he deletes his original post, yours will immortalize that.

... Yes I know I'm being cheeky. So you may now roast me... As long as you redact the quoted vin ?

No roasting from me. I've written software for DMVs so maybe I'm more adept at this than most but in a minute or so I was able to find the city that it was registered and who the lease is through. I'm sure that given a few more minutes I could have the name and address.

I'll put my name out there because I don't generally worry about it but if you are trying to stay anonymous at all, posting something like your vin can easily lead back to you.

Well, yesterday was the first real rollback from my Evse. 4kw took a while to charge. The garage door was cracked open but the car had heat soaked. Can’t tell if this is related to the charge port overheating or the handle of my evse, but my fan was running and picking a different speed every 20 seconds or so.

just an FYI and for whatever it is worth.

I brought the car in this morning for this and another issue. SA just called and said Ford is aware of the issue(yo-yo) and is working on it.

Got my car back from dealer and invoice said Ford is working on charging concerns.

better than nothing I guess
Thanks for the update. It does appear to be better than the black hole I have got with remote departure scheduling not working.

I received from my service early last week.

....... we are just trying to get the next step on this with Ford. We will follow up when we get some info.

Only reason I can see for not to just roll back our software to what we had and was working fine for the last two and half years is there is some concern now about the way it was charging during that time? They implemented a temperature monitoring variable and that senor is not responding right in some cars? A software update definitely broke mine and it would be bit of a mystery if software can not fix it and hardware will be required. Could be what @kdryden99 has been saying? Just tired of dealing with the constant saga of this car not working as it should.

Charging right now handle warm, vents closed, no fan, 13C (55F) and slow as molasses.

Thanks for letting us know. My wife’s car has an appointment for another issue tomorrow. But I’ll mention this to my service advisor while I’m there, just to let Ford know there’s plenty of us.

I also gave the reports from my juicebox that showed the up and down at 40 amp and straight line at 32 amp
