I still think it’s car related but maybe not all the EVSE’s handle it well.

Definitely car related. Get the software and the charging goes down. After over 4 months they play it is the charger card again. There is no other logic that makes the same sense.

Thanks

I had read that but why is my Autel operating at full 40 amp 9.5? Maybe some units just operate higher? Got me.

will charge up this weekend and see if the Autel is still operating at full load.

Bad EVSE or bad J1772 handle on your Juicebox then. Guess you better buy a ChargePoint.
I don’t think so. I’ve replaced three ESVE‘s now and they’re all doing the same thing it’s temperature based. Granted 2 were Tesla, 1 Clipper and now an Emporia. It’s possible down in Florida the port didn’t get as hot due to humidity?. I have no idea.
I actually did charge on a ChargePoint last weekend in Flagstaff and its 7.8 kW was fluctuating between 6.6 and 7.8 with an ambient temp at 70. Really odd range it was showing but it’s 3 double chargers and no one else was there. Granted my port is probably just trashed for some reason.
What I do know is that we’re chasing ghosts Ford is supposedly aware of it and already has a fix but we’re all sitting around with our thumbs up our ass, watching our cars charge slower and talking about it just like the five second issue. Unfortunately what that’s doing is it spiraling us all out of control and the hatred for this freaking car Ford needs to freaking step up to the plate because it’s going to eventually hit a breaking point.

Right….I remember that now. I wish it were something official from Ford so I could get mine fixed.
You and me both.

Go around trying different chargers since 40 amps is a different 40 amps on some. You have a cool 40 amps and a hot 40 amps ;) . Done with babysitting a car that just has never functioned to spec. Diagnosing when the problem is faulty hardware leaves you going in circles and at the end still not fixed. Ford could tell us what is wrong and I will buy the F'n cable/port to fix it out of pocket. At least stop jacking us around for months for a few bucks. May be the plan is we get a Tesla port if we wait long enough? ?

Was it slower before? Was it slowed down by 25% (40 amp to 32 amp) or 33% (48 amp to 32 amp)? I got 5.1.1 this week. If yours was throttled and charging slower before 6.1 and now is back up keep us informed.
The charger was not slower over all, it just fluctuated. This was my last charge...

Ford Mustang Mach-E L2 charging speed recently dropped 33% Charg

It may not have charged long enough to get hot so its hard to say if the charger will fluctuate when we do a longer charge. It has been cooler but our garage is climate controlled so heat is never a big issue for us.

heat in my garage has not any negative impact in my case.

in NY weather is much cooler than here in Fl. Higher temp here in Fl and still charged at a steady 40 amp over hours.

I was thinking the humidity might get the port temp to show up different. As water dissipates heat to a degree. Bwwwaaa ! A degreee! See what I did! I kill myself. :muppets animal:

I take % charged x 88 KW / time in hours and it averages low 6 KW/hr. If it fluctuates I am not sure as I do not have fancy graphs just need for when I plug it in it charges as spec'd. Bugs me it did for 2.5 years but not anymore.

That is normal taper if you charged to 100%.

So I noticed the throttling before on my Juicebox 40 last month. Now when I plug in, it will throw a charge fault error within a minute and not charge at all. I have to lower it to 32 or under 8kW and it will charge in a smooth constant rate with no throttling. Anyone else having this issue?
This is similar to what my wife’s car was doing around Christmas of last year. After a new charge port and the software “upgrade” it will now charge without faulting, but it still won’t maintain a consistent 40 amps draw.

2 cars one does it one doesn't on the same power and charger has to be the charger ;). Would your service even confirm it is not charging to spec or no diagnostic/comment? If something on the vehicle is overheating to de-rate charging it would be nice if it was at least acknowledged and better yet addressed. All we have to date is de-rate it for our possible safety, with no further DTC codes and they are not too concerned about which owners that effects or for how long.

Someone mentioned here we can have hope that 6.1 brings something (did it do something for hers?). Thought it was going to take a while to address but now thinking they may just not. ?‍♂ Reasons just keep stacking up.
