Yes, I get a 500 rebate on any charger as long as it’s energy star certified
My utility required specific brand and model. This year it is any Energy Star EVSE OR made by your car manufacturer.

You also have to be on a Time Of Day plan.

I would have said Tesla as a joke, now I'm serious. I got the Grizzle E. My only complaint is the thick cord or what you call it. It more of rolling it cord. Best pro ease of use. And you can open it up if you need to.

If you need durability Grizzle E. For outdoors especially. Others may not fair well.

Their testing includes running it over with a car. In case you happen to hit the post it's on and continue driving.

I’d definitely check with your utility company. I have AES Indiana and you can buy a JuiceBox 32 for $379 or a JuiceBox 40 for $399. They’d be about $650 normally.

When you buy it enrolls you in their Peak Demand Program. Allegedly nothing happens normally but if they are in a peak demand situation, they may defer your charge to off peak times.

If you have a smart thermostat like a Nest you likely participate in a similar program.

I have a Tesla wall charger hardwired with a 60A breaker and providing 48A. It’s a “dumb” charger, and by that I mean I plug it in and it charges the car just like it’s supposed to.

Of course I have a Tesla and an MME (and a Leaf) so it makes sense for me. Bonus if you get one though, you’re ready when you upgrade to a Tesla!

I have a 40amp Juice box and it does the job. Ga Power offered great rebates so that's who I bought it from.
Only issue is with their app. Can't seem to get it to work right and customer service is terrible

I've had both the smart and basic chargers. Personally, I didn't need the data supplied by the Autel. I did put a inexpensive watt meter in line with the charger which is actually more accurate than the Autel as it accounts for the overhead juice used by the unit. About $20. DROK AC Power Meter, AC 80-300V 100A Voltage Current Color LCD Display Panel, Digital Voltmeter Ammeter Watt Active Power Energy Battery Monitor Multimeter Volt Amp Meter with Current Transformer CTDROK AC Power Meter, AC 80-300V 100A Voltage

The Grizzl-E's cord is thicker but more pliable in the winter than the Autel which can be a factor in cold climates.

BTW there is a tax break on the unit and install.

Hey guys. Just got a Mach E last week and I’m Looking for some good suggestions for a level 2 charger. Thanks!
I purchased a ChargePoint Home Flex and have been very happy with it so far. I like that the app shows me the cost per charge whether at home or at a public charger. I did look at the Ford Charge station but I figured if I ever sold my home, potential buyers would think that it could only charge Ford's (which isn't the case but why risk it). I've also found ChargePoints' customer service awesome the time I did need to call

Don't even bother with Ford's recommended charger install company. It's just a middle man that sends you multiple electricians and all were $500 - $1000 more to install than I paid my local.

I don’t own one of these, but based on what I’ve read and researched, plus all the comments herein, I’d buy an Emporia if I was in the market for an EVSE right now.
Yep, this is what I did 7 months ago after purchasing my '23 GT. Did a bunch of research on all the different chargers(I know it's technically called an evse)on the market and landed on the Emporia. For the features and price point there is really no competition.

So far it has worked out fantastic and since I did the install myself I saved a bunch!

I hardwired an Autel Maxicarger 50 amp. in my garage. The app provides all the info I need. It's $479 on Amazon now.

Check with your local power company. I got the Chargepoint from them for $199. Normal price was $699. I did watch State of charge you tube videos. Very helpfull.

I run the Pulsar Plus from Wallbox at 40 amps, plugged in to a Nema 14-50 receptacle. I've had it for just about a year with no problems. As a previous post mentioned, their customer service is excellent. My charger was missing a screw for the mounting bracket when I received it. I contacted customer service and they immediately sent me a replacement bracket with all necessary hardware for mounting even though all I needed was one screw.

I've been using the Ford Mobile charger since I bought my Mach-E, put in a 14-50 outlet in the garage. It's been doing fine, but probably every other time it now shows the amber "over heat" indicator while charging.

Do check with your local utility and state to see if they offer any rebates for specific models - the rebate may bring the price of a fancier unit down below that of a basic unit.

And NYT Wirecutter (paywalled) did recently update their recommendations for best EVSE. (Spoiler: they thought the Grizzl-E was great.)
