HA! I've not seen that work for months, let alone be accurate. I had it show over 100mWh once on at 30 something percent charge lol

But ya, I'd have the electrician come back out and check the socket to make sure its putting out the full 240. Also be worth verifying what wire was installed and how long of run of wire was installed. If its a super long run that can drop your charge a lot, although not down to 3kWh I can't image.

Run the car down a bit, plug it in and see how long it takes to charge.
He used 6-3 wire about 75 feet.

He used 6-3 wire about 75 feet.
That should be fine, I'm not an electrician, but I don't think you run into issues till over 100'.

I would just let it charge, don't bother looking at the software for info. Run it down, look at the dash for the percentage, charge it, and see what its at after two hours or so. FordPass is a piece of trash.

Did you make sure the 14-50 pigtail is fully seated in the charger? The pigtails are notoriously difficult to insert and remove.

If you look at the current charge while the car is still plugged in and charging it should show. You have to scroll down. But with this you can do the math. 5% of your usable battery is either 4.4 kwh or 3.3 kwh. I’m guessing you have the smaller battery.

I just got my car today. Electrician hooked up the NEMA 14-50 wall outlet. When I plug in to it it’s only charging at roughly 3 miles/hour instead of the 20 it should. My system seems updated. Anyone have any suggestions?
Make sure you have inserted the 240v plug in all the way into the Mobile charger. You have to push very hard and you will hear a noticeable click when it seats.

Make sure you have inserted the 240v plug in all the way into the Mobile charger. You have to push very hard and you will hear a noticeable click when it seats.

This reminds me of the 14-50 I had installed at our previous house. The electrician wired the whole thing up and as a last check probed to see that the voltages were correct.
The voltages were not correct because he didn't look at the diagram on the outlet and had swapped one of the hots with the neutral. Fortunately, he took the whole thing back off and fixed it immediately, but I never would have thought to check that before plugging something in.
This is what I think as well, he probably swapped a neutral and line around so the charger is only getting 120V instead of 240V. Easy to do if you're not paying attention to the terminal labeling. Because it's getting 120V it might be trying to charge at the L1 rate (3 mph) instead of L2 rate (20 mph).

I concur with this, I would think the Ford charger would be aware but since it's multi power output and input maybe not.

Oddly enough, I've seen more and more Teslas popping up in my neighborhood but I've never once seen anyone have them plugged in on their driveway. And while I'm not in the middle of nowhere, I'm not somewhere known for public EV infrastructure either.

It was an easy fix. I jumped into this purchase faster than most and went thru a broker who knew nothing about the car so I’m reading a lot to learn about it. Purchasing thru dealer who can explain things when you buy the car would definitely help. They can also refer electricians.

Question - why do YOU need a multimeter? Simply ask the electrician - can you put a meter on that and show me how it's supplying 240v?

Electrician swapped two wires. Came back and fixed today. Thanks for everyone’s advice.
That's a poor electrician. You complete a job, and then verify it's completed. Stick in meter probes. Done.

What if he swapped wires by mistake?

While my dealer has been fantastic regarding all things directly related to my car, he is no more qualified to recommend an electrician than he is a brain surgeon!
