That could correlate with available battery capacity. If the car is using EPA efficiency and total capacity at 100%, it makes sense. When the battery is cold, it has less EtE at 100%. So maybe the GOM is simply calculating the EPA efficiency times the EtE? It would explain what you are seeing and what I am seeing.

I will do some OBDII readings as the car gets colder this winter and see if that theory holds up.
I do not really get into all the figures but this winter I am going to charge to 100% some day when it is -20F and see what the displayed SOC will go up to. Last year I had it rise from 90% to 94% after a 10 mile drive after leaving a heated garage.

I don't think the display will go beyond 100%. I think it will just stay on 100% longer.

I have noticed my GOM drop since our fall/winter has already arrived. I only drive around town so never worry about it as I charge daily but it does track my reduced mi per kWh. If I were to travel I would figure things for myself based on my usage and not solely rely on the GOM.
This what I was wondering. Is that what will happen? I absolutely know the GOM is just that, but I'd like to see if it drops range mileage well below EPA at 100% charge when it gets really cold and I am not preconditioning.

It used to. A good way to test is to park it outside and let it sit over night. Where you live I am sure it is getting down to close to freezing at night now. Or at least the 40s. That is enough to find out especially if it sits over night.

It's in an unheated garage. Getting to the low 40s F at night up here.

That should cause a measurable impact on battery capacity. Obviously the colder it gets, the bigger the impact. Sub zero F temperatures will really be noticeable.

Trust me - unless something has changed since last winter it will!

I thought someone posted 101% a few weeks ago (pic included.) I will at least give it one try. I always thought it was funny to drive 20 miles and get home with a greater SOC than when I left. I realize it was just algorithm mumbo-jumbo but weird to see it happen on those cold days.

My experience here in Alaska matches yours. Heat works OK to about -20F (never gone out with it colder) but wish there was some additional balance between defrost and floor/defrost. As soon as I get a bit of fogging I can clear it up instantly by switching to defrost but then the car cools a bit. Then I switch back. Auto mode never works well and always fogs up massively. I am not an instrumentation tech but I wonder what Ford uses to determine humidity and if it does not work as well in northern climates.
We are back to freezing temperatures here in Finland. Unfortunately I can confirm there is still no fix to fogging problem as of 10/2023, forcing me to resort to defrost spam.
I have kind of given up on waiting for a fix anymore.

Do you know if you have all the recent hvac updates? Some have to be done via fdrs.

Did you get the 4.2.5 OTA yet that includes the fix for fogging? Or a HVAC update in FDRS since May?

Seems like Europe gets the software delayed about 6 months compared to USA, so fogging fix may not have been released yet there.

Same here in Alaska - maybe even a bit worse for fogging up - auto OK until about 30F (0C)

Well this is not good :(. I have a new issue that started from these updates too. Randomly either ac or heat just does nothing. Not looking forward to this winter.

No issues like that thank goodness! I just do some manual switching and all is good.
