Fordpass will notify you 30 days before it's due for service so that you can schedule it with your dealer. I just got my 20k at 18,994. But my real concern is I've had the car in about 10 times, and the only charge was for NYS inspection. Service is supposed to be covered for 3 years. At least on the 2021 models.
Service certainly isn't covered on the 2022s here in Canada unless you pay for a maintenance plan.

Some years ago, Ford sent a letter to all the dealers, asking them to stop "recommending" maintenance that wasn't in the maintenance schedule. Some dealers did, some did not.

When your dealer recommends maintenance (not repairs) that aren't listed, you should respond with one of the following:

- Can you show me where Ford recommends that for my vehicle?

- Why doesn't the Scheduled Maintenance in the manual / FordPass say that?

or, my favorite:

- Go pound sand.

My nearly 90 year old mother booked her annual tire rotation and oil change at her dealer. They recommended over $700 of bullcrap. 17,000 miles. She said no, called me, and then told them "show me where it says that in my manual". They said "it's Florida, it calls for very extreme maintenace". She told them, probably too nicely, "go pound sand".
Reassuring (NOT) that the motor trade is the same the world over.

UK dealers always try and sell engine flush on ICE services which NO manufacturer specifies, fuel system cleaner when fuel’s the best cleaner known to man and if any gum has built up in injectors for instance you won’t get it off with wire wool so “cleaner” which just flows through the system can have no effect AND no manufacturer recommends, air conditioning sanitise when the pollen filter barely allows air through and by the time you’re out the dealership a/con is as unsanitised as it was AND no manufacturer recommends, plus there’s a whole load of other addins amounting to £600 on my wife’s last car service if I accepted them which are unnecessary and not specified by makers but which dealers attempt to frighten motorists into paying for.

I simply ask “is that YOUR recommendation or the Manufacturer’s?”

After much BS I ask the question again, very slowly, very deliberately clearly and after their admission it’s not the maker’s recommendation is forthcoming I tell them then just do what you’re meant to do.

It’s an upsell - legalised corporate scam IMO.

AND, I know different markets have different operating conditions but 10,000/1 year service intervals?

Really?

In 2023?

On state of the art cars with no engines, dodgy wet cam drive belts to prematurely fail, flawed dual mass flywheels to prematurely fail, clogging DPF and EGR valves etc?

When, in UK the service intervals at 2 years unlimited mileage which can be, and is for me, 60,000miles how can 10,000miles/1year intervals on the same car even be a thing??‍♂

10k mile service cost me $25 in Louisiana; the only item on the invoice that had a time or parts charge was the tire rotation, so it is likely that the rest of the "checks" were simple. I wonder whether the high-dollar service fees in wealthy parts of the country correspond with more dilligence—and better pay for their techs—or if they just need the money to pay their site's landlords.

I just had my 16,000 km maintenance done in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada's 2nd most expensive city, and it cost me $69.99. And yes, I asked them to "rotate" my winter tires off, and "rotate" the summers on. No issues at all. They upsold me on wipers, but I like to change them in the Spring & Fall anyway. They even Armour All'd the tires.

As others have said, perhaps find another dealer :)

Not on a Mach-E
they can see your actual mileage and fault codes OTA.
It doesn't come from the dealer. But from Ford. The dealer can only see it if you give him a serial number and he puts it in by hand to ford.

All I know is when I killed my HVBCB my dealership was aware of it when I called them. And I did that right after it happened. Like within 10 minutes.

If it’s the dealer you bought it from, or one that’s serviced your car previously, they have the VIN and access your data with a couple of clicks.

Only because local tire shops may have not yet dealt with lifting a Mach E, I take my car to the dealer to rotate the tires. Otherwise, I would not let a Ford dealership feed my dog.

I've brought mine to Les Schwab and America's Tire. Both shops lifted it fine. Less Schwab used a rack, America's tire jacked each side independently. The MME has been out for 3 years, most shops have seen one by now.

If you're that worried buy the "lift here" stickers on Amazon and slap them under the car. A lot of us have done that.

I have a 2022 Mach-E with only 2,000 km on it but my dealership is asking me to come in for its first maintenance. When I look at the maintenance schedule, it says the first maintenance is at 10,000 miles and doesn't specify a time period. The cost is $80 plus tax to do a tire rotation with the remainder being an inspection. I asked if I could get my snow tires changed over and they said it would be an extra $90 plus tax for that service. What I would like to know is whether you are being asked to do a service visit when your car is 6 months old regardless of mileage. If so, are you accepting the appointment or following the maintenance schedule that came with the vehicle? I'm feeling that this is premature.
I think you need a different Dealership

My dealer said I had to bring it in at 1 year or 10,000 miles. I had 7000 miles when I took it in for the 1 yr. I have a 2021 GT PE.

I also just had my tires replaced at Costco with no problem.
I brought mine to Costco today to have the tires changed and they turned me away because they didn't have the pucks that were needed. They said that they would order them to have on hand for future tire changes.

I have a 2021 Premium with only 9,000 miles. My dealer has told me to wait until I have 10,000. I only drive about 500 miles a month so that would be late July or early August.
