Interesting, so Honda/Acura are using the GM platform? Will probably be a much better looking version of the blazer if it’s true - I like Acura crossover styling a lot better than Chevy.
Honda is a licensed partner on the Ultium platform but is also developing their own for release later in the decade. 😊🐩

From our friends at the BlazerEVForum. Production ready Chevy Blazer RS in Radiant Red Metallic! Still no confirmation

on whether Supercruise has been removed from the RS trim.
It’s not bad looking, but also doesn’t stand out. Kinda looks like any of 20 other SUVs out there right now.

Could be a good or bad thing depending on what you’re looking for.

I could drive past 20 of them before realizing it’s a new BEV. Mach E on the other hand definitely stands out.

I read on the Cadillac Lyriq forum that deliveries are ~ 3 years behind schedule. o_O I'm guessing the Blazer EV will be similarly delayed? I doubt that GM will be able to ramp up production of its Ultium platform.

I'd say 9-12 months late so far. Lyriq Debut Edition were supposed to ship in the fall (a bunch waiting to be delivered) and 23 RWD were supposed to be delivered in late fall. Most of those 23s got moved to MY24 which starts production in May. My guess is most orders will be 12-18 months delayed from the original ETA.

Expect Blazer original ETAs to be moved back a full year. GM still hasn't ramped up Ultium battery production.

Ugh. Unfortunately I think you're right. GM can't scale up its Ultium production to meet demand. Too many Lyriq, Hummer, Equinox, etc... platforms planned.

Operational methods and philosophies must be fundamentally different at Ford and GM. Ford seems to be chugging right along on its electrification even with the hiccups it's encountered. So much news from Ford recently.

All I seem to read and watch about GM are ifs and maybes. But I've always said this year was going to be a very telling year for GM.

The clock appears to be ticking. Ford is certainly not being idle. Even Rivian seems to be ramping up. Stellantis isn't a factor yet but if it figures out how to make a good first showing next year...rut roh raggy.

I think the Lyriq and the Equinox represent GM's best chance of adding to the Bolt's success and not falling behind. At a $74K starting price, I feel like the Silverado will be just another overpriced electric pick up in the eyes of buyers.

Going to be an interesting spring.

According to my local Chevy dealer owner, when I asked him about the “100% electric by 2035” for GM, he said “that’s dead, not gonna happen.”

Honestly, no surprise there. Way too short of a time period to switch completely from their best selling, most profitable and best vehicles to GMs……… worst.

I've joked that GM is better at advertising EVs than making them, but I'm starting to wonder if that is really what's going on here....ie, drum up brand interest in $30k Equinox, $60k Lyriq, $40k Silverado....all at a huge loss. Limit production so you don't actually have to build many at that teaser price.

I've yet to see a Lyriq on the road.

My wow 😲 was at the the unequivocal manner at which the owner declared it's not gonna happen. Flies directly in the face of what Barra has been preaching.

I haven't learned anything about GM that tells me the company is on track to deliver on any of its promises. So yah not surprised either. Just really disappointed. I'd like to see more friends and family enjoying BEV ownership. I really thought the Equinox might be a gateway for them (desirable form factor and a good price). Now I'm not sure GM will be the company to make this happen.

When they first announced it I didn’t believe it then either.

Seems it was a (failed) attempt to bolster stock prices. The owners were looking at Tesla stock thinking “we deliver 40x as many vehicles per year, do it at a PROFIT and yet somehow Musk is richer than us??”

Even a kid in a High school Econ class could look at GMs business model and think the move is crazy.

“We failed miserably multiple times with electric cars, so let’s stop producing all our profitable models and focus 100% of our attention there……….”

At the end of the day, these businesses need to make business decisions that result in profits…….. or they’re gonna be looking for a government bailout……again.

I did not read through all 16 pages to see if someone already mentioned this . . . but GM's announcement of no CarPlay in this vehicle and all their future EV's that they made early this week would be a total dealbreaker for me. Stupid decision to not give that choice by GM.

Not an issue for me as I never use CarPlay. I'm still waiting to see if SuperCruise will be available on the RS trim. They changed the trim descriptions a few months ago and SC was no longer advertised as being part of the RS.

So I just hopped on Chevy's website to build an Equinox EV. Wow, what completely safe and uninspiring exterior and interior color options. I guess that's one way to keep costs down.

It looks pretty nice! Just wish there was more information re: delivery dates. I think Ford takes the win here with their Tesla charging partnership and more mature platform but I still have a soft spot for the Blazer EV (haven't cancelled my reservation yet!)
