Wow. Why is it up to car company to figure out when you WANT to lock your keys in car, and when you DONT want them locked in. 2FA would be a pain in the A$$, and no matter what method you use what about being out of range or in garage? Plus i dont want to wait for 2FA, i have key i am ready to go. A pin maybe, but why all this just in case i lose keys, forget them in car etc. And everyone who hides their keys in a GOOD hiding spot, thieves already know the good hiding spots.

The 2FA would not be used for unlocking or starting the car…. That would be incredibly stupid. The 2FA would be used for removing an authorized phone from the cars PAAK list.

When you leave your PaaK phone in the car, it inactivates the PaaK for that phone. When you leave the keyfob in the car, the car probably doesn't lock.

This is why you set up the backup key code, and keep the door code in your wallet, and never use the keyfob in the car unless an emergency or PaaK setup.

The car can be locked manually with the key fob in the car. 3 ways to do it. Press the interior lock button and then close the door. Press the exterior lock button or use the keypad.

I have it scheduled to only activate between certain hours to make it more useful having it working at night could have helped possibly.
I tried that but the schedule feature never worked in FordPass for me. :(

To confirm......the SecuriAlert does notify me when any door is opened with or without the fob being present.

If the schedule worked for me, then I would use that feature and set the times for when the car is normally not being used. That would be kinda helpful. But, it wasn't meant to be for me. :(

Well, assuming someone doesn’t have your key fob, your PaaK enabled phone, or your backup start code, is there any way a would-be-thief could start up a Mach-E without authorization?

I'll have to try those. It's good to know. I never have the keyfob. My wife has it in a faraday bag in her pocketbook.

I'm honestly surprised key fobs and door pins/access pins hasn't gone the way of the dodo in favor of biometrics by now, hey maybe that's an OTA update to upgrade the IR steering wheel cameras to verify the driver lol. As far bluetooth, in the past there have been notorious exploits allowing a device to be rooted in just a few seconds. While all has been patched, it's hilarious to think people believe it will never happen again. That being said, I prefer ease of use over insane levels of security. If I'm away from my car for long periods of time I'd just turn off bluetooth and wifi cause both have security concerns and they of course suck down battery juice. It's a good habit to follow regardless of the type of car you drive. I have no idea why someone would want to lock a wireless key inside of a car, it's no different than leaving your keys in the car and it's a quick window break and your car is gone.

I think the modem in the car is a GSM 2g according to what the settings was claiming. I honestly doubt it's going to stop pinging cell towers just cause you tell it to stop transmitting data. Modem log is what ford suggested and prob best bet to get your car back? Never heard of a GPS/cell scrambler that's portable but I'm not a hacker, interesting to hear about it. Between that and the FBI hijacking cell signals it's amazing anything even works like it should.

Sorry to hear about your MME being stolen.

I think I should throw an AirTag somewhere secret place in the car. :(

Just older MMEs have SecureAlert?
Mine says it will send an alert when a door is opened. I presume with or without the fob?

Our MME will notify me if someone even walks near the car if I left the windows open. Definitely informs me if car is attempted to be opened if locked. Try entering the wrong code on the door several times and see if you are informed.

Well, having car stolen sucks. I was taught when learning to drive to NEVER leave the key in the car. 45 years later I still follow that rule. Unfortunately, most car thieves do not steal a car to drive it. It is fairly quickly taken down to parts to sell on the market. If you do not recover in 48 hours very unlikely you will ever see in an assembled condition again.

Edit: I read some of the reviews and wouldn’t recommend this bag. Too many red flags-

Badly translated English- red flag

7,000+ global reviews- huge red flag they pay people for fake reviews

Dozens of US 1 star reviews- tons of people saying it doesn’t work or quits working after a few weeks. These would be the reviews I trust.
You might consider Mission Darkness Faraday products.
