But in bad news, what DID show as step 2 "complete" or "in progress" (forget which one), it now just shows "Not Yet Started"

It seems like Ford has a whole department devoted to making my buying experience as annoying as possible.

So seeing this, it makes me wonder. How did everyone else do their paperwork at the dealer? Was it any different than it has been in the past?

My dealer did the whole thing on an Ipad through Ford's system directly. Basically tap to sign the pages, then it printed out the completed contract and it was done. Makes me wonder if the dealer was actually using the new system but only the dealers had access to it at the time.

My experience in Pennsylvania is that the “finance” end of purchasing a car is an hours-long, drawn out, process, with many elements of the ceremony rooted in our Commonwealth’s 17th century English heritage. Think of the investiture of a new monarch or something. There are many arcane instruments that must be signed with a dip pen (quill is preferred, of course) then sealed with wax. Multiple pieces of correspondence must flow between the dealership and various arcane bodies (usually via runner, but if you’re lucky, they might get a fast pony). There’s an interminable amount of waiting while ancient rituals involving 12th century relics are performed in the back offices. And of course, there is the ceremonial parading of the Ford Extended Service plan brochures, so that you can gaze upon them in wonderment. Finally, the finance manager dusts of the IBM Selectric (or, if you’re in a modern dealership, the pin-fed dot matrix printer) to produce the final official documents.
iPad?! Don’t make me laugh! We’re not nearly as advanced as you high-tech, left-coast Oklahomans!
Seriously, the agonizingly long, tedious paperwork process is what I hate most about buying a car. And supposedly, it can’t be streamlined in PA.

I looked in as well. Reserve says ready and is blue. However Place order is in grey and says 'Not Yet Started". I am confused on who places the order. It still says dealer has accepted order.

I’m admittedly grasping at straws but I’m hoping (wishing, dreaming) that things are in flux to be followed by some long awaited information about production.

You and me both! My lease ends in June and I keeping everything crossed my Mach-E will be ready by then.

Eventually you will receive an email from Ford with a build start date. Mine was 2/22. hear nothing or saw no change on this web page. Then on 2/28 received an email that it was completed, but took a few days to populate the web site. Shipped email arrives 4 days later. Now again nothing until it gets to the dealer. It helps to have patience

when did you reserve? I reserved 2/18 and only have Reserve Ready green. I got a call last week from George the salesman telling me I am pre-production so he thought I was about a month out from getting the car. I chuckled under my breath with that statement. I hope to find a GB FE that was abandoned before the Place Order is green anyway.

What the heck does Place Order - ready mean? I assumed (I know) when I put my deposit down last month I was placing order. So does this mean Ford itself is ready to place my order at the production site?

My order status has been stuck on shipped since Dec 28th. Hope my dealer has a beer or something waiting when the car finally comes in.

Humorously, due to the way the page is coded, the days remaining until delivery are now increasing each day since I am past the end date.
