Anyone else experience this? I had just been Level 2 charging. Depressed the button on the handle, unplugged, got into car, foot on brake, turned on, had blue bar on IPC (like it was still charging) drove for 10 miles with no speedometer, just the blue bar. Stopped the car, performed a “key cycle”, speedometer returned. The heck?

Problem with this: it technically makes the car illegal and unsafe to drive according to my state’s laws.

Did you try engaging the cruise control to see if that changed anything?

If you have owned a 2021 for 3 years and haven't grown used to the occasional software hiccup that goes away with a restart, you probably should sell the car.

There is no way that a temporary issue, resolved with a restart, is "illegal".

Then, Teslas and Mini Coopers must be illegal. I bet the speedo police confiscate those dastardly cars every day!
The Teslas and mini cooper look so cheap to me with only a center display. It’s so lazy to be like “Hey, just put everything here and we’ll have less changes to make for cars that drive from the wrong side.”

OP is probably right though, it is a more serious safety issue than say Bluetooth not connecting or other software quirks in the car.

Yeah I was not happy with my speedo responding about 30 seconds later than it should. But I was on city streets so I kept with the flow, somewhere around 60mph ya know.

Not sure what model year Mini you are referring to here. Our '21 electric is the experience I like most of my three EV's. Center console for entertainment, nav, setup, etc. Below that are dials and toggles for hvac and features, e.g. regen control, drive mode. Steering column has a display front and center for efficiency, power meters and critical messages, a turn signal and wiper stalk where they should be and audio/cruise control settings. There's a HUD for speed, ADAS and turn by turn integrated into the nav. Sure it's all plastic but what isn't in a car today?

I had this happen once, last year, after a DCFC charging session. Turning the car off and back on is what fixed it for me. Thankfully I noticed while I was still in the Walmart parking lot.

But at least it’s not off center.

A soft reboot of Sync (volume down + next track buttons held down) may fix this condition. ??

Hello, I would like to look into your display issue further on my end. Could you please send us a message with your VIN and mileage?

Oh, I’m used to it, doesn’t make it good.
