From Thursday to today I flew through all of the update to 2.5.1. I was one of the stuck cars in EA prior to whatever magic the OTA team did. I have an appointment scheduled at the dealer tomorrow but think I will cancel it now and wait out 2.5.2. My dealer apparently didn't follow directions well the last time anyway and caused some PAAK issues so I'm probably better taking my chances on OTA.
I don't think this has been covered elsewhere so I thought I'd mention it here. I had an APIM replaced due to a "Loss of Nav" issue which may have been caused by an OTA, I may have received back around late Oct. I don't know exactly because the APIM has now been replaced and all Sync update history from that time is now gone. All I was told at the time was the APIM needed to be replaced (I now understand that was probably not the case).

Anyway, so when that happened, I was disconnected from PAAK, disconnected from Connected Services, all profiles were wiped, radio presets gone, etc.

So potentially anytime you take your car in and they have to update modules, and the APIM is one of them, you can expect to get it back with your customizations gone. .

I can confirm loading all of the updates from FDRS and being in EA will yield BC for at least JOB 1 2021 cars.

Why does it say available through October? I thought the trial period was one year?

I am waiting for the 2.5.2 update.
Wonder what that update will do to my Mach E. So far so good.

EA?....EA? Weee don't need no steenking EA!! We got FDRS!

?

Mike
The reason EA matters is because even with FDRS you can't update any module Ford hasn't "released" for your car. I am stuck with all modules updated but no BC. This is apparently because there is one APIM update that is not yet "published" for my car.

SG01 is "done" but no BC.

I am hopeful Ford will end the Moronathon and make these modules available to those of us not able to join EA

Maybe we only get one year from when it was supposed to be installed?

Hopefully that's one of many things that will get updated.

The one year starts from the day BlueCruise gets activated. Every car will have to download a new BlueCruise map about every 6 months, but there's no extra fee for that.

Right. That's pretty clear.

Yep. That's supposed to be the right answer. Convincing the car may be another matter.

As I said, it should get updated. Hopefully that's just map expiration #1.

There was already a round of map expirations for Job 2 cars. Most got the new map OTA, but there were some that didn't and BlueCruise stopped working. Those unlucky people had to go to the dealer to get the map data updated. Hopefully, this will all be sorted before the next map expiration in October, but we know how that can go.

Well hopefully that discrepancy will be resolved soon. If your tech is telling you that 21G01 is done but you're not at Sync 364 on the APIM then it's not really done.

That is exactly where I am and dealer does not know what to do. There is no APIM update available in FDRS. They are not getting a response from Ford since last Wednesday to address this.

I need to escalate but not sure who to connect with. Ideas?

Question - if one looks in FDRS before going in for 21G01, is this the ONLY APIM update that would show up? Meaning, if it isn't there, don't bother going in? Or is there one update, then based on other updates a second shows up?
