Went to pick my Mach-E today at the dealership after being told that this was complete. Thankfully @Mike G determined that there was still a ton of software left to do in FDRS. Left a voicemail with my service person, he called and said she was ready to be picked up and I asked if he got my voicemail and he said that he had been so busy that he didn't listen to his voicemails today. So I got there, Sync is still on Revision 244. No Hands-free mention anywhere. I told him it wasn't done, and explained to him the benchmarks to show that it was ready. He told me that I have to delete and reinstall the FordPass app to refresh things (I did not do this because I know that's not the case). I just sent them a huge email with screenshots from here and links to PDFs and an emphasis on updating their FDRS and completing 21P22 as Step 19 indicates. Hopefully more progress tomorrow, but ultimately, not confident that they know what they're doing.

Well done you!

Stick with it. I'm glad you're not putting up with the BS.

It's one of the reasons I got the FDRS software license, the adapter, and powersupply, and just did my own. I got tired of being told things I knew weren't true by people who supposedly were the experts. You should have seen the look on my salesman's face and the GM's when I showed them my screenshots of BC working on both my vehicles and told them I did it myself cause their service department said the files weren't available.

Stunned silence.

We'll all get there eventually!

Ya know I think there's a guy over on the F-150 forum who got offered a job and accepted part time to do programming cause he was obviously that good at it. I don't plan on doing that, but it was impressive that this guy got asked to do consultant type programming for some dealership cause he was that good. A serious "module whisperer"....

Another update from my adventure. Car was at the dealer all day today. Looks like they were able to update everything, but still no BC. I'm on sync ver 358. They reached out to Ford and are waiting to hear back.
Little update today. I reached out to my dealer to see if they've heard anything. Got told they found out they actually needed to order a part for their computers to be able to finish the update? And that I'll be able to drop my car off sometime next week. Seems odd to me, and my hopes aren't high... Just going to hope I get lucky somehow

Not the BC update unless you are stuck on 1.7.1

I did the same thing when I went in on Monday. Marlin was at Sync 258 so the last update wasn't there. Having a tech who had never used BlueCruise test it was the real mistake. He took it out for a test drive not knowing what to look for and after having missed the step that should have shown him there was no Hands-Free to turn on. I think he was fooled by this screen:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Optional Product Improvement Program 21G01 - BlueCruise Programming BlueCruise On - sort of

Nope. That's not Hands-Free!

I guess while I wait for the glass recall appointments to come up I'll look for another dealer, mine can't seem to manage to get even that far- and this in "glorious" silicon valley no less.

I still consider myself lucky mine has only needed to be in the shop for about 9 days total so far, but I do still need to get the sw resolved and the tailgate corrected. I feel like I've been fairly patient as I've had the car for over a year now.

Watching the mobile service come out and work on the neighbor's Tesla this morning in his driveway made me a little envious. Not enough to get a Tesla, but there you go. ;)

Ummm a thumb drive? Did he describe it as a small stick lookin thing that you put in one of those little rectangular holes in the side of the thing you watch cat videos on? ?

Sounds technical. I think.

Best of luck in any case.

Well the latest FDRS version (31.6.7) seems to have fixed my stuck at Sync revision 358 issue. I plugged my car in yesterday after the new version came out and was presented with a nice new GWM update. I did the initial attempt at updating to BC on April 2 and was stuck with a GWM and APIM one version short.

The only hiccup that I experienced was that I never got a "Update Successful" message on the SYNC touchscreen after performing the GWM update but after waiting 15 minutes with the car off and then another 10 minutes with the car on (Ignition ON, Engine ON). I just went ahead ahead FDRS with a Yes to the "Was the update successful" message and the modules validation step completed successfully.

A new APIM update was then available (sort of small at only 864MB). That installed without any issues and after a double APIM Reset in FDRS, it looked like BlueCruise was available.

All of the options in SYNC said it was successful and I was able to find a BlueZone close to me and do a test drive. Eight miles of "Hands Free" blue background instrument cluster told me the long journey from stuck 1.7.1 to BlueCruise was over. Success.

Unlike some others I have not received any email from Ford or messages in the FordPass app saying that BC is active, but it was fully functional during the initial test drive so hopefully that email is coming but i'm not holding my breath since I don't seem to get any emails from Ford and the only thing I seem to get in the FordPass app is "You car has changed to the desired level" messages.

Just dropped it off at the dealership. They had me wait for about 15 minutes so they could talk to the tech about it. They said “FDRS was down and had been down for a whole day yesterday. We will have to reschedule you for next week.” I said “you have it until next Saturday I’m on vacation.” They said “Oh that’s fine then!”

So we will see what happens when I get back next Saturday.

FDRS was not down yesterday, so that’s not a good start.
