Just got my Job 1 back from the dealership. It took them four days to complete the work - some module calibrations were blocking a chunk of updates, so they needed Ford to come in and perform a reset on the affected module. But...

BlueCruise is now fully operational!

My car is currently at the dealership for the 3rd time getting the pano roof recall done. First time was left uneven with gaps. Second time they supposedly fixed the issue but came back worse and with the glass chipped. They tried to cover the chip by gluing a piece of rubber to the broken area. Now it seems it was done incorrectly again because adviser called yesterday and said it was done but he wasn’t happy with the job. It’s been a headache having this recall done. So they’re supposed to go back and fix AGAIN.

Received another call from advisor today saying that they’ve been trying to update the car for the BlueCruise but have been unsuccessful. They’re waiting for a call back from ford support on how to get it updated. So most likely another week without my car.

Mind disclosing whom the dealer is? About to reschedule mine at a San Jose shop soon.

I give up.

I had no GWM or APIM module updates show up after I cleared the list (in the order of the bulletin, ie GWM first.) I updated FDRS to 31.6.7, again, still nothing. Did the PMI step for the GWM, still no new updates. I'm pissed that I blew this money on a Mongoose, power supply, and FDRS licenses for nothing. Sigh. I guess at least I finished the rest of the 21P22 updates which my dealer completely failed to do, despite their insistence that they did.

I am just going to wait for the OTAs, whenever those arrive. Hopefully my dead end isn't because of some software incompatibility I introduced while trying to push updates. At least the car drives (though plain old adaptive cruise control doesn't even work) so I guess I will cut my losses.

Sigh.

I'm in the same exact boat. Hoping nothing more serious is going on and it will just eventually sort itself out :/

I was going to buy the adapter, and power supply, for like $1,200 total, plus pay for a subscription to FDRS, but then I remembered that my wife can run pretty fast with a rusty grapefruit spoon.

My laptop crashed doing the IPC update (but I think I remedied it) and it spat all kinds of errors at me, and my first thought was "my wife is going to murder me for bricking my expensive-ass car"

This is my wife's car (although I drive it when we're together). If I bricked her car, she'd... I shudder to think of her, loud,

LAUGHTER AT HOW STUPID I WAS"

I didn't pay $60k for a car to then spend my time running my own updates, that's the dealer's job. I also knew that Ford had a horrible track record of this with my prior car (never got an OTA update once), and that the dealers would struggle with it. I took it in once for a problem, another time for the improved charging curve, and now for this going in Monday. Hopefully, they will then figure out OTA updates and this won't get to be a regular thing. A visit to the dealer every 2 months is a PITA.

Glad to see some people are having success - I might try it out this weekend, I'd been waiting for an FDRS update and some updated procedures.

For everyone reading this, I would be extremely clear that the reason to do it yourself is that you find it fun and amusing, and you don't mind spending money on gadgets to support that amusement. None of this should be construed as the "right way to maintain this car".

Yep, gotta be a IT literate technical person who enjoys that kind of thing. And have huge stomach for risk taking on a primary use car and/or spousal beatings...

I just wish it had worked out for me, alas I have to take mine in as I suspect hardware will be required for me to get around the 1.7.1 stuck issue as I'm a odd-case.

This is at North County Ford in Vista Ca.

Advisor was telling us that no one wants to touch these cars because of how difficult they are to work on.

Apparently dealers in Canada can’t do the 21G01 at the moment… They are no info about it in the FDRS ??
My car was at the dealer for TSB 22-2117. It’s take 3 days to complete because the update keep crashing. After they have successfully completed the 22-2117, the FDRS indicated that no others update is available for my car. So they can’t do the 21G01.

I suppose my best option right now is to have hope in OTA!

Decided to pickup my career before the weekend after not hearing anything all day. I guess instead of consulting the lengthy email I wrote the team at my dealership just decided to call Ford and hadn’t heard back. So my car sat all day. Lane keeping no longer works as expected. And no real idea of how to love forward. Dealer said they’d call me after hearing from Ford. SMH.

It seems that dealers are just not ready for software being the new oil change.
