Onus is on Ford, not the dealers.
Ford needs to take leadership, which they are doing.
Dealers need to get in the game too, to help shape their future with ford. Even if they decide to switch brands they’ll still be a few more Ev’s to service real soon. All with their own quirks.

I’m frustrated at the learning curve and crappy communications. I know when they’re working on my car and where it is. Yet they tell me different stores.
having been through the start of the PC era, it’s looking quite similar and I know we’ll get there. It’s growing pains.

You couldn't be more wrong IMO. Yes, some dealers can't follow directions. But Ford had to modify the procedures multiple times, then had server issues. Onus is on Ford, not the dealers.
And you maybe perfectly right.
Jim Farley said it best.
Ford got to do a lot better than what it is.
Engineering is not always right.

SUCCESS!

Ford Mustang Mach-E Optional Product Improvement Program 21G01 - BlueCruise Programming PXL_20220508_020043292

(Knowing my luck, I'll bet the OTA pushes to me tomorrow now that I've got it figured out.) As frustrating as this whole process has been, I really do think things have been changing/improving rapidly, as evidenced by the FDRS version upgrade, recent newer module updates etc. I got a Mongoose and FDRS license within days of the 21G01 announcement, but stalled out pretty early in the process. Every subsequent adjustment did push me a little further along, and with some help from people (Ford and otherwise) who reached out to me, I finally got it working. I'll bet if I had started from scratch now, I probably would have succeeded the first time around. Regardless, the Mongoose/FDRS also let me complete 21P22 which my dealer insisted they installed correctly :)rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:)

Hopefully folks who have had their installs uh... stall with their dealers start seeing more and more successful completions...

So I've got FRDS set up, but there are no SW Updates listed. I did a PMI selecting no on the GWM, APIM, IPMA, and the TCU. So far, nothing has changed. I'm still at the sync revision 415 that the dealer left me at. No lane centering, and toggling lane keep while in CC shows "BlueCruise not Available" on the IPC. Any pointers from anyone?

Edit: It never prompts me to use my USB drive either.

PMI won't use the USB drive, that only applies if you need to actually update the software. PMI just skips that part because the software is current, the last step is it just re-writes the config from Ford to the module which is very quick and done over OBD.

I'd try it on the CMR, and CCM as well just to cover all the modules that are involved in BC activation.

You can PM me your VIN and I can take a look and see if I can see anything sticking out that you could try as well.

As of this week, if everything is done correctly, Sync should be at 22095_PRODUCT Revision: 421
I got my car back from the dealer today with Sync version 415 and BC not working. I cannot even select the hands free lane centering, it just has lane centering on the menu. At least my standard lane keeping with hands on does work.

EDIT: lane centering is not working, and when I toggle the lane centering button it tells me Blue Cruise Not Available

After a day of at home FRDS and with some help from members here (thanks!!) I was able to get my car unstuck and I just came back from my first BC drive!... which was to the dealership to tell them my car's all done.

And what exactly was it that got it working? PMI on CMR, CCM?

I'm more pissed at Ford for emailing me that my car is eligible for an update and not making the same information available to the dealership.
Got a call this morning from my dealership about my last visit where they wouldn't do the 21G01 update saying that they had an update available for my car and wanted to schedule a time to do it. Turns out she was referring to the 22B08 CSP for the ECM. I mentioned the supplemental update to 21G01 and she said they weren't currently able to do that but maybe they could by the time of my appointment, in three weeks.

So I brought the car in for 21B36, 21C22, 21P22, & 21G01, now when I charge the red lights come on and service car now shows up when I try to start it. Waiting for a call back from the dealer, guess my 1+ year of no trouble has ended. When they replaced the window they messed up the wipers too.
Brought back and 3.5 hours later charging works right again.

ARGHHH

After 20+ days at the dealer for 21G01 Ford and the dealer got Blue Cruise working. It worked for 8 days. Now it is back to where it was.... hands on only.

What a disappointment!

Power Up OTA update 2.8.2 downloaded successfully last night. Part of the 21G01.
BC tested again today for few miles. No issues. Anyone else received the 2.8.2 update??
