With all these MME issues I’m losing confidence in my order!! Premium 2022 due build Jan 3. Should I give it up?
There are always horrible edge cases with any car… you may want to read ID4 or Tesla forums for perspective. On balance MMEs are reliable. (See consumer reports) Most of the problems are not mechanical but software related…. The good news is that given enough time software problems get fixed.

This has been my experience. Stop Safely Now first appeared Sept 7. Our local dealer reprogrammed stuff and it worked. . . for awhile. Driving through Colorado on Oct 6 it happened again. Car has been sitting at the Colorado dealer since then. Last Friday, December 3rd, eight weeks later, they finally got a Ford Tech to look at it and identify that they need to replace two battery arrays. No estimate when that will be done. I like the car and would like it back. But it may be lemon law time.
In my case, I suspect it's definitely an issue where the HVB is not charging the LVB. I originally thought that was a software issue, but even after the reprogramming, the issue persists. I hope they get to it sooner than yours though.

If it goes more than a month, I'm going to ask them to refund my lease payments.

So if reprogramming isn't the fix all that can be done is swap parts until it works again?

Well, that is, arguably, a bigger problem. Mechanical problems are typically fixed fairly quickly, software can take years before it is it fixed. My Accord had a significant issue with the programming of the ACC that took 1-1/2 years to fix. The car was driveable but not in the way I had purchased it.

Prior to that, literally, the dealer like some here have done, told me to restart the car. But, it's happening 2, 3 or more times / week, and that's your answer? Do I pull over on the side of the freeway and reboot my car? The first time I brought it in they gave me a bunch of BS about paper baggies flying across the sensor and it getting mud on it.

When it was finally fixed I didn't get a notice or anything. I had to find out on the Accord forums and call the dealer for a flash. No recall, no phone call, nothing.

Honestly, I'd almost rather the engine fell out of the bottom of the car, at least I could have pointed at the problem for them.

God I hope that this isn't my case, can't afford to lose my car for 2+ months.
Same here. At least my blind 90 year old father's pickup, that he keeps paying insurance and registration for, but can't drive, would get some use.

I wish I could tell you more. I didn't get an update on the diagnosis, so I can't tell you definitively what the issue is. Like the OP, I had issues with the starting and by the time I got it towed to the dealership the first time, the 12v was so drained that there wasn't enough power for the hazard lights to flash properly, the electronic parking brake wouldn't engage, and the driver door wouldn't lock. There were 5 (!!) pages of error codes.

When I know more this week, I'll update the thread.

Hey everyone. This is long but I really hope you take the time to read for awareness. I’ve been having issues for the past month and today is a bit of a nightmare so I figured I’d vent here.

I have two mach-e’s. A red first edition (Apollo) and a white premium 4x (Boo). We got Apollo in February and Boo in March.

Todays nightmare: we live in the greater Seattle area and my husband took Apollo to Stevens Pass which is like the middle of nowhere in the mountains where it’s currently snowing for photos with his car group. When he tried starting the car to come home, we got the “Please pullover safely” message. Car would not shift gears. Neither a jump start, disconnecting the 12v battery, or letting the car sit fixed the issue. This all happened around noon. After trying everything he used Ford 24/7 roadside assist to get help. We would need a flatbed to get the car to a dealer. Ford quoted 3 hours for a tow to arrive. They were also demanding $500 which turned into $700 because it’s so remote even though it would be brought to the closest dealer which would be where we bought it anyways. The car eventually loses all auxiliary power but a Tow truck finally arrives. However, ford apparently cancelled the tow because it took too long and the tow truck refuses to tow the car and leaves because we can’t get it figured out with ford within five minutes (tow guy was a jerk). Now ford is trying to find another tow but it could take hours. It’s now night, freezing, frozen, no power, no heat, and hours from civilization. Luckily his friends car is there. At the time of typing, this is all happening real time. This is incredibly frustrating and at this point, it’s becoming a safety concern given the conditions. It’s proven to me that even after 15k miles on the car, these Mach-es can’t be trusted and it’s incredibly frustrating. We put our faith into these cars as both Mach es are our only cars now.

The other nightmare that has been going on since November 9th. My mache (Boo) was having ratteling issues in the front wheel wells. I scheduled to have it repaired to my local dealer. I simultaneously scheduled additional repairs for two windows replacements because the rear quarter panel window and rear driver window were damaged during delivery in March and the replacement JUST ARRIVED IN NOVEMBER. So I figured I’d have those repaired all at the same time. Dealer also suggest having the recalls taken care of. Sure that makes sense. Well it took a week but the barrings and windows were replaced. My dealer contracts out windshield replacement out to a local body show so the windshield and call roof recall will be done there. I have secure alerts turned on so I can see when the cars being worked on. The car sits at the body shop for two weeks without being touched. Finally, I see they start working on it. My dealer calls me a few hours later and lets me know they shattered the windshield and need to order a new one. Jesus okay so that’s an extra week. Windshield arrives and the body shop won’t get to install it for another week. I ask if the roof was successfully reinstalled and they have no idea. This upcoming week will be 30 days and I’m seriously considering lemon lawing this car. Only problem is there aren’t many other electric suvs that interest me with this size.

So here we are. Purchased two maches and neither are functioning and one is currently on its way to a dealer if we can find a tow truck.

Side story: both our cars weren’t part of the original recall. Apollo had its windshield cracked so we went through our insurance and got it replaced at safelite. However when they took off the old windshield they realized it wasn’t originally installed correctly and refused to install a new one for a few days. The dealer refused to help because we didn’t go to them for a windshield replacement but we just wanted assistance getting it installed or something but they refused. I reached out to corporate and told them that the recall should be extended. They said they would get back to me the next day but never did. Two weeks later the recall was extended to more cars. Satellite found someone capable of installed and resealing the windshield.

Anyways I am getting really tired of the issues with these cars. We spend nearly 140k on these and it’s been problem after problem met with barely any help. I was so excited when I ordered these cars in 2019 and that excitement fades with every issues. I have been coming to this forum nearly every day since the cars announcement and have been such a big fan. It’s so crushing to be facing such disappointments.

Thanks for reading and I truly hope you have better experiences with your cars.

Sorry for any typos and weird sentences. Typed this in my phone :)

Hi there, Nick! Please send us the VIN's of your Mach-Es as well as the name and location of your Ford dealership. We'd like to assist. Thanks!

Nick, I'm getting the same clunks when I've been turning. Trying to schedule service with Ford along with the 2 recalls, and SW updates. Still waiting to hear back...been 4 days. Concerned I will be out of a car for weeks.

I'm in the same boat, however I called my local dealer here in Indianapolis (Tom Wood Ford) three weeks ago to schedule everything you just mentioned. I dropped the car off this morning, verified all of the work to be done, and the guy at the desk asked, "was the glass work scheduled with our body shop?"

I responded, "I was unaware that I had to call a second time to schedule the same service work. I called you 3 weeks ago to schedule this so I assumed you would be setting up everything necessary to perform this work. "

He said he would verify that things were in order and call me back. That was two and a half hours ago. Looks like I'm going to be without a car for at least a few days. ?

Good luck! The clicking was apparently fixed. Originally they thought it was something related to steering which they replaced but it ended up being the ball bearings like I expected. Hopefully you get your car back soon!

Quick update. I just called the dealer to see if the glass work was properly scheduled, they confirmed that it was not. So just to confirm where we are:

  • I called the dealership 3 weeks ago to schedule this service for the recall and other updates.
  • I get an email confirmation that day as well as last night confirming the appointment time of 8:30 a.m. this morning.
  • I dropped the car off at 8:15 and confirm all the work to be done.
  • After not hearing anything for a few hours I call them again to see if the body shop work for the glass repair is scheduled, the soonest that they can do the glass work is the 20th.
Why did I schedule this three weeks in advance?

This is one of the largest Ford dealerships in Indiana. They confirmed to me on the phone they only have one Mach-e certified technician and used this as the excuse for multiple delays in the process.

This is not good.

I would advise everyone that after you call and confirm an appointment to deal with the warranty issues on the glass, call back the next day and verify that the right people are involved.

I hope by now you are warm and safe! I had the same pull over safely message. I called Ford Roadside Assistance and the tow guy dragged the car on the the tow bed - seems he pulled it by the battery rail, damaging that and the batteries. I am getting quite the run around from Ford Customer Care. No department seems to take responsibility.

With all these MME issues I’m losing confidence in my order!! Premium 2022 due build Jan 3. Should I give it up?
Hi, I am new to the forum, and just received my Oct build GTPE, I have used it daily for a week, including taking it to my ski condo in 18 degree weather. It is working as promised, and I trust it. The PAAK works fine, but it was clunkly to set up. I am not sure if it was me or the car being clunky though. my IC driver is a 2017 Raptor, and I much prefer the Mach E. I recommend it, and have no issues. I own a company where we have dozens of Ford vehicles, and I generally believe they are very solid and reliable. Based on my observation, you should get your car and enjoy it. Early builds are always sketchy, but they will fix it. Ford is a good company.

I think I speak for a lot of people that have had issues, Ford isn't the problem in fact they are a great help (besides the road side assistance) the real problems arise from the dealers.

Good call, or before you go in the day before, confirm they have a glass appoinment, if they dont, re schedule whole visit. These businesses dont have complex scheduling built into their models, I know this doesnt seem complex, but it is when it is a new world, everything is complex now with inventory complexity and staff shortages. they deal with what is in front of them physically. I use same advisor at same dealership for everything, and make sure he has everything good to go BEFORE i drop car off. A relationship with service people is key right now, and dont assume you are right, work with them and follow up, follow up, follow up. That patient plan will work. And keep you sane.
