I didn't really want one but all of the Mach-Es in my market came with them. I think I feel the sun load and find I have to wear a hat in the summer to keep the sun off my head. I think they also add unnecessary weight and reduce structural integrity compared to a steel roof. Then there is the risk of serious damage in a hail storm, if you have those where you live. It is one thing to get a lot of dents and another to have cracked glass overhead.

p.s. before you order be sure to check (1) what tariffs are going to do to your price and (2) read all the cautionary discussions in these forums regarding the weird door handles and release mechanisms, 12V battery failures and lock outs, range uncertainty, charger availability, availability of EV mechanics and wait times to get service if something goes wrong, software download issues, and strong anti-EV sentiment in many parts of the country. Lots of people love their Mach-Es and are willing to live with the quirks of the Mach-E, but go into your purchase with your eyes fully open.

I've had mine covered for a while. I like the look of a glass roof but never really use it.

Depends on the reason you’re getting a GT. If you want a performance vehicle, pass on it. It’s extra weight and all of it is up high. It’s the reason my 2021 was ordered without the 360 cameras (because Ford tied the two options together) and I spent so long looking for a 2024 without the glass roof. ?‍♂?

If you are getting a GT because you want the comfort of Magneride, you might possibly want the glass roof. ??

In either case, I wouldn’t want it myself, but I also have 4 legs and a tail. ??

You’re in MA. I am in Seattle. If you were in the south I might have skipped it. However at the latitude we are summer temps are not extreme, usually. As others have said I’m 6’2” and have plenty of head clearance. I usually dislike moon/sun roofs because my hair touches and it drives me nuts. This pano, not the case.

@MP7 , something that no one mentioned before is that the pano glass makes the top of a Mach-E all cohesively dark / black. If you opt for no pano and buy a non-black color, you will end up with a very ugly transition from piano black side trim to a lighter colored painted roof. So some end up wrapping the roof in black to eliminate that condition.

Take a look at one without and you’ll immediately see what I’m talking about.

I bought two Mach-Es. Both had / have it.
Personally I don’t find the body-colored roof ugly and I think it looks better from the front and sides. I believe Ford also still has the option of the black painted metal roof.

It also depends on the paint color. In Glacier Gray, a non-pano car looks like George Costanza ?

Two rock chips right at the edge by the wind shield causing two replaced pano roofs each year. One of the repairs took over a month because of lack of supply and dealer buffoonery. Not worth it, but if you do get it look to get extra protection for the leading edge.
Same here. Didn’t know there was a crack until the dealer pointed it out when I went in to have the recall work done on the roof. Had to buy a new glass roof but fortunately the labor was free due to the recall. Next time I’ll pass on the glass roof. I don’t notice it when I drive.

I'm 6'4" and have never had an issue with the pano roof. I thought it would be nice to have, but I never notice it at all. I would probably notice the lack of light in the interior if I didn't have it, but it would just be the change I would notice, and I'm sure I'd be used to it in a week without it.

I have had a few people ride in the back that commented on how nice it is, though. And I have a cover, but don't use it, because I don't notice any real temperature problems from it. And even in direct downward sunlight, it doesn't feel like you're sitting in the sun. So I think your worries won't be a problem, but the question is whether you think it would be worth the money. It came standard on my car, so I don't feel like I paid extra for it, but if I were to buy a new one, I would likely order it without...

I like my glass roof. It seemed to actually give me more head room. I'm 6'0. It has a good coating and doesn't make things really warm. I do have the sun shade for the summer though just in case.
I like the glass roof. I am 6’3 and have plenty of head room and no need for a shade in 4 years in Atlanta.

There has been some mention of headroom on this thread and how the taller members have no issues with the pano roof. There is a good reason for that. You have 1.5" of extra headroom in the front seats and 1.1" of extra headroom in the rear seats with a pano roof. So if you are extra tall, I would suggest getting the pano roof.

Completely agree with you Steve. When you order an ICE Mustang, you have the option of a black painted roof which as you say gives you that all black cohesive look on the top. That is how I have ordered my ICE Mustangs and when I got my '24 MME in Glacier Gray without the pano roof, the very first thing I did was have that roof wrapped in gloss black. The top looks just like your car now!
Ford does offer the option of a black painted roof!

I'm looking forward to the glass roof on my Mach-E. I've had glass roofs on the two Teslas we've owned and really like the extra light and less claustrophobic feel. The glass is IR tinted and also blocks all the UV. I've never had an issue with the Tesla glass roofs, even in the scorching high altitude Colorado sun or in Arizona.

I’m about to order a 2025 GT and am on the fence about the panoramic roof. Just wondering if anyone who has the glass roof would recommend otherwise. Also curious if any uses a sunshade on the roof.

I have a panoramic roof in my current car but always leave the built-in shade closed in the warmer months. Wondering if I should skip it this time.
I have the panoramic roof in my GT. When you ride in the front seat you really don’t notice the glass. Because you are to close to the dash. Really only the people in the back seat enjoy the view. But it is a cool view. In the summer months it’s nice to have a sunshade. Because you will feel the heat. I installed my sunshade and it really helped. And I have not removed it. So I guess if I was ordering a new Mache I would pass.

I had not sat in a MME without the glass roof so I wasn't sure, but good to confirm there is more room with the glass roof.
